Arts for Good Health is back this autumn!

Our Recovery Pathways service is launching the Arts for Good Health (A4GH) Autumn 2026 programme, offering free creative wellbeing courses across Manchester from October to December.

Choose from eight courses, including:
- Botanical Colour
- Digital Photography
- Painting
- Festive Painting, Drawing and Crafts

- Free to attend
- Open to Manchester residents aged 18 and over
- Self-referrals and service referrals welcome

Courses run for 4 to 8 weeks in small, supportive groups across Manchester, helping people improve wellbeing through creativity, connection and learning new skills.

Places are limited to one course per person, with priority given to new referrals.

From immersive beach scenes to virtual bus journeys, innovative technology is helping enhance dementia care at North View.

This month, our Chair, Professor Tony Warne, visited North View (at North Manchester General Hospital) alongside Non-Executive Director Simone Spray and Governor Helen Pearse.

During their visit, they spent time with staff and service users across several wards, hearing firsthand about experiences of delivering and receiving mental health care.

One of the highlights was seeing the immersive room on Blossom Ward, our female older adult ward, in action. Activity Coordinator Pauline demonstrated how the room creates calming, interactive and familiar environments, from relaxing beach scenes to digital colouring activities.

For people living with dementia, experiences such as replicating a bus journey can provide comfort, familiarity and meaningful engagement, helping to support wellbeing and enhance patient care.

A huge thank you to the North View team for showcasing the incredible work taking place every day! 👏

Sashiko Project update! 🧵

Creative wellbeing activities can help people build confidence, connect with others and support mental health recovery.

Bringing together Recovery Pathways service users, staff and partners, the Sashiko Project is a collaborative textile artwork that showcases the power of creativity and community.

Our Recovery Pathways service is currently in discussions with Factory International at Aviva Studios about potential opportunities to share the work with wider audiences in spring 2027.

Our Recovery Academy is proud to announce that Maddie, a course facilitator, professional and expert by experience, has had her first book published. 📖

The book aims to give individuals a practical guide on how to support autistic individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, using lived experience as a focus throughout.

Supporting Autistic Individuals During Crises: A Practical Guide for Mental Health Practitioners is available to buy from book retailers and a variety of online platforms. A copy is also available from our Library Service at The Curve.
