Wishing our Muslim residents and colleagues Eid Mubarak!
Our Muslim residents will be marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan and celebrating Eid Al Fitr.
Depending on the sighting of the new moon some members of the community will be celebrating from today, 20 March, whilst others will be celebrating tomorrow.
Eid Al Fitr is a day where people partake in charitable giving, visit mosques to pray as a congregation and, following prayers, visit friends and family. One of the biggest elements of Eid is the sharing of food with family and friends, enjoying eating meals together after prayers.
One of the leaders from our Muslim community has sent the following message:
“Eid Mubarak my friends, neighbours and loving family. It is sad that we have come to the end of another Ramzan. A month like no other. Sharing food at Iftar providing a perfect opportunity to be with family , friends, neighbours and most importantly new found friends.
Praise to the almighty for providing an Islamic way of life through the holy Quran and to follow the steps of our prophet. May we all be worthy of Allah Talas (God’s) help, guidance and attention. May Allah Tala give us the strength to carry our good deeds and good habits from this blessed month to the next eleven and beyond. To continue to serve and support ALL members of our community.
May Allah Tala help our international and national leaders to find peace where there is conflict. Agreement where there is a discord. Love where there is hate. Promise of ever lasting peace after so much war.
May Allah Tala bless each of you. Eid Mubarak!”
We wish our Muslim friends and colleagues Eid Mubarak.
