The Consulate General of Pakistan in Manchester commemorated the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq with a dignified ceremony, paying tribute to the valour, professionalism, and technical superiority of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and to the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
A large number of British Pakistanis from diverse walks of life attended the event, demonstrating their unwavering commitment and solidarity with Pakistan. The ceremony reflected the unity and patriotic spirit of the diaspora community.
The proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Ifthkar Sialvi. The participants then rose in reverence as the national anthem was played. Ch. Abdul Karim welcomed the guests and participants, setting the tone for the commemorative gathering.
The event was conducted by Master of Ceremony Mian Amir of 49 News Network and Cllr Naila Sharif.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Afzal Khan highlighted the importance of maintaining a strong and professional armed forces for safeguarding national sovereignty. He also acknowledged the vital role played by overseas Pakistanis during Marka-e-Haq and praised their continued support for Pakistan and its institutions.
Minister/Vice Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Barrister Amjad Malik spoke about the professional excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces, their leadership, and the unity and resilience demonstrated by the nation during Marka-e-Haq. He also paid tribute to the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar during this critical period.
In his remarks, Consul General Mr Imtiaz Feroz Gondal said that during Marka-e-Haq, the Pakistan Armed Forces demonstrated exemplary courage, operational excellence, and technical superiority over their adversary. He particularly highlighted the pivotal role of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in steering the Armed Forces to success, and also acknowledged the exemplary leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.
Other speakers, including Dr Liaqat Malik, Fr Falak Sher, Dr Hamid Al-Mashriqi, and representatives of media organisations, conveyed the heartfelt sentiments of overseas Pakistanis and reaffirmed their unwavering support for Pakistan and its leadership.
The Consul General urged overseas Pakistanis to remain united in their support for Pakistan, its Armed Forces, and national leadership. He further emphasised the importance of cohesion and collective engagement within the community, particularly in local civic and political spheres.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ch. Tahir Siddique, who expressed appreciation to all participants, speakers, and organisers for their contributions to the success of the event.
The ceremony ended with a renewed pledge of unity, resilience, and continued support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and progress.
