Thursday is the monthly Manchester Animal Rights Network meeting at Hillgate Cakery 7-9pm. This month Simon Russell, chair of the Hunt Saboteurs Association is our guest speaker. We also have the MARN Book/Zine exchange, Animal Rising will be distributing supplies of leaflets, stickers and posters for their new campaign, we have ALF Supporters group merch for sale and copies of the most recent ALFSG newsletter. Come along and be part of building a mass local movement for animal freedom.

Thursday 3rd of September is the next monthly Manchester Animal Rights Network meeting. If you'd like to get involved in local activism such as hunt sabbing, the MBR and lab protests, promoting veganism, pigeon rescue and more come along.

This month's guest speaker is Simon Russell chair of the Hunt Saboteurs Association. Simon will talk about the history of the HSA and the latest news from the battle against bloodsports.

Animal Rising will be giving a brief introduction their new expose and call to action. There will be posters, stickers, fliers available to take away.

Book/Zine exchance table. Bring any books, zines, newsletters, stickers, etc to exchange or give away and take anything you're interested in. Animal Liberation, Human Rights, Environment, Activism, etc There's some copies of the ALF SG and the new Keith Mann tribute magazine.

And theres vegan cakes and drinks to buy from the Cakery. Something for everybody!

Come along and be part of building a mass local movement for animal freedom.

Today's Barclays UK protest in support of the MBR Suppliers campaign was a bit wet!! Plenty of coversations had and lots of leaflets handed out. A few folk said they'd be complaining to and others vowed to close their accounts in protest.

We'll be back next week, if you're intetested in joining the protests and have any questions feel free to reach out.

It was good to see everybody in town for LGBTQIA+ Pride, with plenty of support for both the beagles and the human rights stall next door.

A documentary about compassion and change in animal activism

Hillgate Cakery and Manchester Animal Rights Network would like to invite you to a screening of a new documentary.

The Empathy Project is a short film in which 12 spokespeople for animals chart their journeys into advocacy. 🦋

The film talks about empathy as a catalyst for change, how outrage can open our eyes
to systemic abuse and how (re) connecting with animals could help address climate and
ecological breakdown.

Thursday 10th of September 7pm-830pm at Hillgate Cakery.

Tickets are free but must be pre-booked due to capacity. Step-free access.

Manchester Animal Rights Network activists dropped in on Thermo Fisher Scientific in Warrington to complain about their dealings with MBR Acres breeders of dogs for animal testing. More to follow.....

MARN Book Exchange. At our next meeting we'll have a book exchange table. A member has books on activism, veganism, etc that they would like to give away. MARN have free copies of the latest ALF Supporters Group newsletter, the Animal Freedom Network guides and some older literature. Please feel free to bring any books or publications you'd like to pass on and/or take away anything of interest.

The next meeting is at Hillgate Cakery on Thursday the 3rd of September. 7-9pm.
