Thanks to all who supported. I do believe this is the right step forward for any council, where we have control over content, rather than misleading people with AI.

A motion proposed by Cllr Ray has been passed, banning the use of AI image generators in all official council communications, including posters, community newsletters and social media posts. The decision was made on environmental, accessibility and wider ethical grounds. In our October meeting, I am proposing an AI policy for our council and I hope it is supported. It is to call for a ban on AI generated imagery used in posters, pictures, and communications. Reasons - friendlier to the environment, keeps communications clear, and ensures real imagery is used - no misleading content. And so the saga continues...

Yet again, we have been called out to another cygnet tangled up with discarded fishing tackle along this stretch of canal.

The lure was successfully removed, but unfortunately the line trailing down the bird's throat met significant resistance and could not be safely extracted in the field. As a result, this little one has now been taken to the vets for further treatment.

This is becoming an all too familiar story. Time and time again, we are dealing with swans and cygnets suffering because of lost, discarded or poorly managed fishing tackle. Every rescue places additional strain on our small volunteer team and results in veterinary costs that we simply cannot continue absorbing indefinitely.

Enough is enough.

In our view, fishing on this stretch of canal needs to be seriously reviewed, if not banned altogether. The welfare of the resident swans is being compromised on a regular basis, and the situation is no longer acceptable.

It is not fair on these birds, and it is not fair on the small, struggling team that repeatedly has to pick up the pieces.

Please think before you fish. Dispose of tackle responsibly, take all litter home, and report any wildlife in distress as soon as possible.

We will update everyone on the cygnet's condition once we know more.

Again, to be taken seriously. Hoping today’s rain soaks the ground well.

We currently have three fire engines in attendance at a fire on Main Road, Nether Langwith. This is on a farm involving 100 hay stacks.

We have been told that residents can see and smell lots of smoke nearby. We advise keeping your doors and windows closed.

We will be on scene for a considerable amount of time so please avoid the area - please do not fly drones above or near the incident.

An update for those who need to hear it on Fairfield Close, near Farm Court. The footpath damage and potholes have been assessed by Nottinghamshire County Council. It looks like the request has been noted for further action needed. They will let me know when repairs are taking place.
