🚨IMPORTANT FESTIVAL UPDATE!🚨

Due to the torrential rain forecast for Saturday 29th August, we have made the difficult decision to change the programme of events for the Saturday of the Grand Finale Weekend.

The team have not taken this decision lightly, and we intend to return to the regular programme for Sunday 30th & Monday 31st.

If you are attending tomorrow, we still have plenty of performances for you to enjoy!

These will be based around the Events Green and the Visitor Centre. Activities at the Major Oak will be limited, or relocated to the Visitor Centre.

Please see the image below for the updated event timings. This information will be available from the Visitor Centre on the day, and also available on our events website: https://visitsherwood.co.uk/events/

Due to the reduced operations, car parking for SATURDAY ONLY will be the standard charge of £7 per day (free for RSPB members).

Festival event parking charges will apply for Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

We understand that this will be disappointing news for some visitors. We apologise for any disappointment caused, but we hope that we can still provide an enjoyable day out for those attending on the Saturday.

Our performers, staff and traders are working hard to provide the best we can, whilst keeping everyone safe.

Please note: The Evening Spectacular on Saturday evening has also been cancelled. If you had tickets booked, you should have received an email with refund details.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to return to our full programme on Sunday, to see the 40th Robin Hood Festival out with a bang!

⚔ROBIN HOOD FESTIVAL: GRAND FINALE ESSENTIALS⚔

We cannot believe the Grand Finale Weekend is here! We have three days of medieval amusement lined up for you.

Check out our list of Festival essentials if you are visiting us this weekend:

🌳It’s at RSPB Sherwood Forest at Edwinstowe.
🎟You don’t need tickets.
🛻 If you’re driving, please approach the reserve from the A616 (Newark to Sheffield road) and avoid Edwinstowe village centre. Look out for the signs directing you to the Festival.
🅿Our main car park is off the B6034 Swinecote Road and it opens at 9am.
Please do not park on residential streets or in the village centre and be aware that there is a parking restriction on Swinecote Road between 8am-6pm.
♿Our accessible car park is on Forest Corner, next to the Visitor Centre and also opens at 9am. You do not need a blue badge to park here – this car park is for anyone who needs it. Additional accessible parking is available in our main car park.
👋Our team will be in the main car park to greet you and to take payment. Payments for the accessible car park will taken in the shop from 9am. There may be a wait for parking - please be patient with our staff and they will get you parked as soon as possible.
🪙It costs just £15 per vehicle per day – this covers everyone in your car.
If you’re an RSPB member the price is £12 per vehicle per day.
Bring cash – it makes payments quicker.
👣 If you had planned to just come for a walk, that’s great, but the same car parking charges will apply, as you have the same access to the events and performances as other visitors.
⏰ We recommend getting here in good time, ideally before 10.30am when the first events begin.
⚔The Sherwood Outlaws will be performing throughout the day. For full timings, please visit our website.
ℹ Other performance timings and event information is in our special 40th Festival programme, which is available for just £4.
🆓Performances are free to watch.
🏹There is a charge for some activities, such as archery and axe-throwing.
🌞If you can’t make the morning events, there is another round of performances in the afternoon.
🔥Due to government and RSPB guidance, we have taken the precaution to remove activities involving fires, therefore performances may differ slightly from those advertised.
🏕Please note that open fires, BBQs and campfires are NOT permitted on site, and please dispose of ci******es responsibly.
🐾Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on leads at the Visitor Centre and around performance areas. There may be some shows with loud bangs.
🍕There will be food vendors on site, and our Visitor Centre café has a selection of hot and cold food, drinks and soft-scoop ice cream. Café offerings may vary.
🛍There’s also a trader village with lots of distinctive and unusual items to buy.
🚾All toilets are at the Visitor Centre. There aren’t any visitor toilets in the forest.

🏹🌳 Tournament of Legends 2026 🌳🏹

In Sherwood's shade, the challenge began,
With witchers, knights and Robin's clan.

The Sheriff battled, Arthurians stood tall,
While mighty Orcs were ready to brawl!

From archery contests to hula hoop spins,
Heroic poses and joke-telling wins,

A scavenger hunt both fierce and long,
Each team was determined to prove they were strong.

The competition was wild, the contest was tight,
Each challenger dreamed of glory that night.

But when all was counted and victory came into sight...
💚⚔️ The crown was claimed by the Orcs, The Galactic Knights⚔️💚

So raise a cheer across the glade,
For the champions of 2026 have been made!

But rest not too long, brave legends dear...
🏹 Let the challenge commence again next year! 🌳✨
