I bought this little book the other day and marvelled at its age, it was printed 129 years ago!
I remembered a poem from my childhood called ‘The House That Jack Built’ and started to read. This was a different version, but it’s made me also revisit that poem.
This is a story about poverty, temptation, hardship and overcoming lifes obstacles, following Gods teachings is the best way to describe it.
It’s such a powerful read, it’s brutal and honest, yet hopeful.
It has a theme running through it ‘Hope On’ are the words often used, regardless of religion a good way to think, to carry hope that our good deeds will reward us longterm.
In times of hardship would we steal from someone as poor as yourself? Knowing they would suffer more? Interesting question isn’t it.
I say we should all ‘Hope On’ ♥️
