🏰 Explore the Cage at Lyme Park! 🏰

The Cage at Lyme Park is a sandstone tower with a long and interesting history. Built around 1580, it was taken down in 1734 and rebuilt in 1737. No one knows for sure why it was first built, but many think it was used as a hunting lodge for the Legh family. Others believe it might have been a place for banquets or a lodge for the gamekeeper.

During World War II, the Cage was used as a lookout by the local Home Guard. Today, its unique design and stonework make it a popular spot for visitors.

If you love history or just want a nice walk with great views, the Cage is worth a visit at Lyme Park! 🏞️
