The deputy mayor of Wells, Cllr. Denise Denis, joined members of Mendip C.N.D.& Peace group to lay a wreath of white poppies at The Harry Patch Memorial to recognise the annual UN International Day of Peace on September 21st.

Commemorating the 77th anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima. Today until 4:30pm on the Cathedral Green, Wells.

At 8pm today, we are gathering nearby for a commemorative candle float at the Bishop's Palace moat.

Mid-Somerset CND and Peace Group has a photographic exhibition showing the devastating effects of nuclear war on the city of Hiroshima.

The exhibition is at Wells Cathedral in the south cloister. It runs until 12th July and is open daily from 10-5pm and 11-5pm Sunday.

On August 6th at 8pm, Mid-Somerset CND and Peace Group will be gathering at the Bishop's Palace to commemorate Hiroshima and Nagasaki with our annual candle float on the moat.
