Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act, 1972 that Cllr. Ken Gilmore has ceased to be a member of Dyffryn Clydach Community Council.

If, within 14 working days after the date of this notice, a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made in writing to:

by 10 registered electors from the community an election will be held, otherwise the vacancies will be filled by the Council.

Announcement: Passing of Councillor Ken Gilmore

Dyffryn Clydach Community Council is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Councillor Ken Gilmore on Sunday 2nd August 2026.

Councillor Gilmore served our community with dedication and distinction since 2022. He worked tirelessly for our community and sat on several of the Council’s committees including Finance, Personnel & Standards and Outdoor Spaces.

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Councillor Gilmore's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Research is being undertaken on behalf of Welsh Government as part of the Travel for All programme, exploring people’s experiences of transport in Wales.

Participants are being sought, from a wide range of people, for group discussions and interviews. In particular young people aged 18-24 years old are encouraged to take part. the link to the survey is :
