IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP HEALTHY?
Everyone deserves to be in a safe and healthy relationship. Do you know if your relationship is as healthy as you deserve?
Read the following statements and see if any of them apply to you :
The person I am with:
1. Says I’m too involved in different activities.
2. Texts me or calls me all the time.
3. Thinks I spend too much time trying to look nice.
4. Gets extremely jealous or possessive.
5. Accuses me of flirting or cheating.
6. Constantly checks up on me or makes me check in with them
7. Controls what I wear or how I look.
8. Tries to control what I do and who I see.
9. Tries to keep me from seeing or talking to my family and friends.
10. Has big mood swings - gets angry and yells at me one minute,
and the next minute is sweet and apologetic.
11. Makes me feel nervous or like I’m "walking on eggshells.”
12. Puts me down, calls me names or criticizes me.
13. Makes me feel like I can’t do anything right or blames me for
problems.
14. Makes me feel like no one else would want me.
15. Threatens to hurt me, my friends or family.
16. Threatens to hurt him or herself because of me.
17. Threatens to destroy my things.
18. Grabs, pushes, shoves, chokes, punches, slaps, holds me
down, throws things or hurts me in some way.
19. Breaks things or throws things to intimidate me.
20. Yells, screams or humiliates me in front of others.
22. Pressures or forces me into having s*x or going further than
I want to.
23. Makes me do things that I’m uncomfortable with.
24. I have to account for every penny I spend and/or ask for money.
25. They have made threats if you leave them.
If any of the above do apply to you then you these could be signs that your in an unhealthy and abusive relationship.
When your in a healthy relationship a partner should be supportive and encourage you. They should listen to you if you’ve got something on your mind. A partner should trust you and the relationship should be equal.
No one should live in fear of partner of an ex-partner, if you think your relationship may not be as healthy as you deserve or you are frightened then please don’t live in fear – you can get help.
