Raising the VAT threshold from £90,000 to £150,000 would free thousands of small businesses from unnecessary bureaucracy, help them grow, create jobs and keep more of what they earn.

Too many firms currently hit the VAT cliff edge and are effectively punished for succeeding.

And let’s not forget: this kind of bold reform is only possible because, ten years ago, 17.4 million people proudly voted to leave the European Union and take back control of our laws, taxes and regulations.

🚨No surprise to see our Labour MP for Newcastle-under-Lyme backing Andy Burnham.

These same politicians were calling for a General Election when Conservative PM’s resigned.

This is also the same MP that voted against an investigation into Keir Starmer in regards to the Peter Mandelson appointment 🤔🤔

General Election now! 🗳️

I am calling for a General Election at the soonest possible date.

🚨 BIN LORRY BOMBSHELL! 🚨

The previous Conservative-led Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council wanted electric bin lorries.

What they didn’t tell taxpayers? They’d never budgeted for the £4.2 MILLION charging infrastructure needed to power them.

Since taking control, Reform UK has:

🚛 SAVED £2 MILLION+ by scrapping the electric bin lorry plan

⚡ SAVED ANOTHER £4.2 MILLION by avoiding the charging infrastructure bill

💷 TOTAL SAVED: £6.2 MILLION+

Residents work hard for their money, and we won’t waste it on costly Net Zero gimmicks.

Sunday Summary: Unconventional Routes & Big Debates 📱🏛️

Thinking back on how things get done, I have come to realise that sometimes unconventional means get the absolute best outcomes. Personally, I really don’t like emails and try to avoid them unless absolutely necessary.
In these modern times, a quick message in a WhatsApp group can often get a faster, better result for residents than a formal chain.

The Committee Rundown

It’s been a week heavily focused on committees, but the multiple briefings beforehand really paid off.

Health Scrutiny

This ran incredibly well and flowed nicely. Members truly got their chance to dive into the details. And although the preparatory reading was quite repetitive, the actual committee meeting was anything but (well, except for Cllr Greatorex, but he openly admitted that!).

Corporate Committee

We held a scoping session for this year’s work, and it is crystal clear that LGR (Local Government Reorganisation) is going to be the dominant theme.
The Reality of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)
What makes the LGR issue frustrating is that we still don't know exactly what the final picture is going to look like. While we were starting to build up some confidence regarding which options would likely be picked, events elsewhere have completely knocked that confidence.
Many residents naturally say "No to LGR." However, if it is delivered correctly, the reality is not as simple as that. That being said—if central government decides to play games and do what is politically expedient instead of making the right decision for our communities, then I am afraid I will be right there joining the "No to LGR" crowd.

Brother in law has spent all day in this glorious weather, doing a bbq for the whole family. Still haven't asked him if this is the perfect father's day, or just work.

As always, cheers! 🍻 Have a lovely evening everyone, the work continues.

Today’s a huge by-election in Makerfield and we hope Reform UK wins.

Because if there’s one thing this campaign has exposed, it’s that Andy Burnham is just another Keir Starmer.

And now the man whose career will always be overshadowed by the Mid Staffordshire scandal wants to force HS2 back onto us.

The people of Whitmore Heath, Whitmore, Baldwins Gate, Wrinehill and Madeley have already endured years of blight, uncertainty and misery because of this disastrous project.

For what?

A project that burned through billions, missed deadlines, broke promises and became a national embarrassment.

Now Burnham wants more.

More waste. More disruption. More years of uncertainty. More taxpayers’ money poured into a black hole.

The people of Newcastle-under-Lyme have had enough.

PRIDE IN PLACE FUNDING

Sadly our Labour MP in Newcastle-under-Lyme is found wanting.

Whilst neighbouring Stoke-on-Trent has secured multiple Pride In Place funding bids (worth £20 million a time), we have NOTHING in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Your Reform UK-led council won’t stand for this and so we’ve written to Mr Jogee to demand he work harder for the people of Newcastle-under-Lyme.

YOUR WARD. YOUR PRIORITIES.

Your Reform UK-led Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council is introducing a new £2,500 annual 'Ward Budget' for every councillor across Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough.

That means more power, more funding, and more say for local communities.

This is a practical investment in the things residents care about most.
