💧 SAVE WATER, SAVE MONEY 💧

Everyday habits can make a big difference. By making a few simple changes at home, you can help protect our water supply, reduce energy use and lower your household bills.

🚰 In the kitchen • Use a bowl instead of running the tap
• Only run the dishwasher when it's full and use eco mode
• Keep a jug of water in the fridge
• Only boil the water you need

🛁 In the bathroom • Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth
• Take shorter showers instead of baths
• Use a water-saving toilet device where suitable
• Report dripping taps and leaks promptly

🌱 Laundry and plants • Only use the washing machine when you have a full load
• Reuse suitable washing-up water on plants
• Use a watering can or spray bottle instead of a hose

💙 Small changes add up. Why not choose one water-saving tip to start today?

Every drop counts! 💧

Get your home ready for autumn 🍂

With the summer holidays coming to an end and the children getting ready to go back to school, it’s also a good time to give your home a little end-of-summer MOT.

As the weather starts to become cooler and wetter, a few simple checks now can help prevent small problems from becoming bigger ones:

🏠 Check your heating – make sure your heating is working before you really need it.
💨 Keep your home ventilated – use extractor fans when cooking or bathing, keep trickle vents open and allow fresh air into your home where possible.
💧 Keep an eye out for damp and mould – check around windows, ceilings and external walls and report any concerns early.
🪟 Check windows and doors – make sure they close properly and report any issues with draughts, leaks or condensation.
🔧 Report repairs early – if something isn’t quite right, let us know. Reporting problems early can help us fix them before they become an emergency.

A few minutes of checking now could make your home warmer, healthier and more comfortable as we head into autumn.
Think of it as your home’s seasonal MOT.

🍽️ Kids Eat Free this summer – save money on days out!

The summer holidays can be expensive, especially when you’re trying to keep the children entertained for six weeks.

If you’re looking for ways to make your money go a little further, there are lots of Kids Eat Free or Kids Eat for £1 offers available at restaurants, cafés and supermarkets across the UK this summer.
From Morrisons and Asda to Bella Italia, Pizza Hut, Prezzo and many more, there are plenty of options that could help take some of the pressure off the family budget. Some offers are available throughout the holidays, while others have specific days, times or conditions.

👉 Take a look at the full list of offers here:
https://www.thinkmoney.co.uk/blog/kids-eat-free-summer-holidays-2026-full-list-of-uk-restaurant-and-supermarket-dea/

A small saving on a family meal can make a real difference when budgets are stretched — so it’s worth checking what’s available before you head out.

Please check the individual restaurant’s terms and conditions before visiting, as offers and dates can vary.

📢 We’ve listened to your feedback – and we’ve acted.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has completed our resident survey and to those who told us it wasn’t completely clear what it was for. 💬 Your feedback has been invaluable.

This survey isn’t about telling us we’re doing a good job. ❌

It’s about helping us create a Resident Code of Conduct – a clear set of behaviours and values that you expect Grainger Trust, our Board and our colleagues to demonstrate every time we work with you.

The statements in the survey are there because we’re asking:

👉 “Are these the standards and behaviours you expect from your landlord?”

Once agreed, this Code of Conduct will become a commitment that you can hold us accountable to. 🤝

💡 Don’t forget the free text section! We really want to hear your views. If there’s something we’ve missed, or there’s a behaviour or value that’s important to you, please tell us. Your comments will help shape the final Code.

📅 We’ve extended the survey until Friday 14 August to give everyone more time to have their say.

🗣️ We’d really encourage every resident to take part. Whether your experience has been positive, challenging or somewhere in between, your voice matters. The more residents who respond, the more representative the Code of Conduct will be.

🔗 Complete the survey here:

🙏 Thank you for helping us shape the standards you expect from Grainger Trust. Every response counts.

The prolonged spell of warm, dry weather has left grass, shrubs and open spaces extremely dry, meaning they can ignite and spread fire very quickly.

Across the UK and Europe, wildfires have already caused significant damage to homes, wildlife and natural habitats, with some communities having to evacuate. We can all help reduce the risk.

Please take extra care:
🔥 Do not use disposable barbecues on grassed areas or open spaces. Why not pack a picnic instead?
🚭 Never discard cigarette ends or matches on the ground.
🗑️ Dispose of litter responsibly, particularly glass bottles, which can increase the risk of fire in hot weather.
👨‍👩‍👧 Talk to children about the dangers of playing with matches, lighters or lighting fires outdoors, and help them understand the serious consequences.
🚗 Avoid parking vehicles on long, dry grass, as hot exhaust systems and catalytic converters can ignite vegetation.
🐕 If you’re out walking, keep to paths where possible and report any signs of fire immediately.

If you see a fire:
📞 Move to a safe place and call 999 immediately, giving the location as accurately as possible. Do not attempt to tackle a spreading grass or wild fire yourself.

A few simple precautions can help protect our communities, homes, wildlife and green spaces.

Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe.
