A Christmas Message from Mark Butcher
Chairman, Reform UK Blackpool & Fleetwood Branch 🩵
Dear Friends, Members and Supporters,
As 2025 draws to a close, I’ve been looking back on what’s been an absolutely incredible year for our branch. Honestly, I feel so blessed it’s been a year full of God’s goodness, hard graft and real breakthroughs that none of us could have dreamed of twelve months ago.
The Christian values I try to live by compassion, honesty and serving others are the same ones that drive everything I do with Amazing Graze and our work helping people in need.
Those same values have carried us forward in Reform UK here on the Fylde Coast. Through prayer, stubborn determination and the grace of God, we’ve won 10 proper election victories across Blackpool, Wyre and the county council – from Marton and Greenlands down in Blackpool to the key seats in Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Thornton. On top of that, three excellent councillors saw the light, crossed the floor and joined us, taking our total to 13 seats
None of this would have happened without every single one of you. You’ve been out in all weathers knocking doors, stuffing leaflets, having those awkward conversations – and all because you believe in a fairer, common-sense Britain that actually looks after its own. That’s something to be really proud of.
Christmas is the perfect time to pause and remember why we’re doing all this. We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ the One who brought hope, peace and real love into a broken world. My prayer for each of you is that this Christmas brings those same things right into your homes: time with family and friends, warmth in your hearts, and a deep sense of His presence. “Peace on earth and goodwill to all” isn’t just a nice line from a carol it’s a challenge for how we live every day.
Looking ahead to 2026, there’s still so much to do – standing up for our towns, protecting our families and making sure our Christian heritage has a voice in public life. So I’m asking you no, urging you – to get even more involved next year. Come and help on a campaign, think about standing yourself, host a coffee morning, or just chat to your neighbour about what we’re trying to achieve. As it says in Galatians 6:9, let’s not get tired of doing good, because if we keep going, we’ll see an even bigger harvest in God’s perfect timing.
Together, with His help, we’ll keep building something better for Blackpool, Fleetwood and the whole coast.
Wishing you and your families a truly happy and blessed Christmas, full of peace, joy and the love of Christ.
In faith and friendship,
Mark Butcher
