Patriotic Alternative are a far-right fascist organisation that have been getting bolder over the past couple of years. They operate by manipulating and radicalising vulnerable and isolated people and grooming young people. By playing on people’s fears, or offering their fascist ideology as a problem solver to peoples issues. In Norwich there is a rise of racist and n**i graffiti, across East of England they have been trying to shut down drag storytime events. These people are racist, misogynistic, transphobic, homophobic, ableist - and they are not welcome here.

The suffering of millions of people in England in poverty is not a result of immigration, or trans people, but the deliberate political ideology of the Tory government which has created a deeply unequal society and fans the flames of hate. Far right organisations like PA exist only to divide us further, they do the government’s dirty work for them. They point the finger of blame at vulnerable communities, while cozying up to the super wealthy and the very politicians who are dismantling our NHS, our council housing and our communities.

We need to keep each other safe, please be mindful of travelling alone.
We need to show them they’re not welcome, remove stickers and graffiti as you see it, report their posts.
We need to outsmart them, have conversations with your families and your friends and your children about far right radicalisations and grooming. This violence is learnt over time, starting with befriending and “jokes”.
We need to organise. Go to your unions, community groups, workplaces to campaign and talk about radicalisation, counter the far rights arguments and ideology.
This is hard and uncomfortable work, but important to have honest conversation with patience and care to stop radicalisation.
United we are stronger.

Our comrades .roots.community are organising a demo on the 04.02.23 creating a flag which captures our feelings of outrage that the English government continues to focus its energy on attack trans rights, instead of dealing with real problems (like the number of police under investigation for domestic abuse or other forms of sexual violence against women, people dying from cold, children going hungry, the list goes on.) We are not pawns in their culture war. We are the people who organise to protect, feed and maintain our communities.
If you want something to do for fun, try and find out if has explained is absence on the s35 vote.

While Tories and Labour race to see who can be the most insidious, people on the ground are continuing to stand up for trans rights and democracy. The use of s35 by this right wing government, and the apathetic waving it through by the so called opposition illustrates so clearly that we won’t be given our rights and we must fight every step of the way. For ourselves, for each other, for every Trans child. We better understand that they won’t stop at Trans people, and will keep seeing what rights and powers they can strip from women, LGB+, disabled people, Black people. Refugees in this country essentially have nothing, if they manage to survive the journey here.
At the demo on Wednesday at Downing Street, a comrade speaker called on us that hope and joy are important parts of the struggle. They can’t take that from us because we build it ourselves, just as we will build this movement. Norwich will be standing tall, celebrating its amazing LGBTQ+ family, with public, free events for Trans Day of Visibility, Trans Day of Remembrance and NORWICH TRANS PRIDE! Save the date - 17.06.2023

NORWICH - Join us on the 19th of November to march, to remember and honour the lives lost to transphobic abuse and violence, and to demand a better future that is free of hate for our trans and gender diverse siblings in the UK and beyond. Our brothers, sisters and siblings are living in fear, a war is being waged against us and the threat on our existence increases with each day. This is unacceptable.

Trans Day of Remembrance is on the 20th of November, with a conference organised by at the Phoenix Centre in Mile Cross. For both travel and accessibility information please get in touch.

Norwich! Enough is Enough. We’re calling everyone to come out this Saturday for the National Day of Action event - part of our campaign to beat the cost of living crisis!

We will congregate at 11:00am at the top of Prince of Wales near The Last Pub Standing, collecting food for local food banks.

We will march from there down Prince of Wales road, past the station up to support the CWU picket at the Royal Mail facility on Thorpe Road.

After that, we'll head back down the road to support the RMT picket outside the station.

We aim to finish the Day of Action with an informal get together at local venue to meet, socialise and begin to plan the next steps for the campaign. National Insurance.

If you would like to join us - come to the march and help pitch in. Together we can win for ordinary working people!

💚💖
We have 5 central demands:

1. A Real Pay Rise

A £15 an hour minimum wage, a real public sector pay rise, and an inflation busting-rise in pensions and benefits.

2. Slash Energy Bills

Cancel the October price hike and return to the significantly lower pre-April energy price cap

3. End Food Poverty

Enshrine the Right to Food in law and put this into practice by introducing universal free school meals, community kitchens, and reinstating the £20-a-week Universal Credit uplift.

4. Decent Homes for All

Cap rents, build 100,000+ council homes a year, insulate homes and introduce a charter for renters’ rights.
Limit the number of holiday homes in any area, limit AirBnBs and ensure they are taxed properly.

5. Tax the Rich

Make the rich pay their fair share by raising taxes on the wealthiest and the profits of big businesses. Crack down on tax avoidance and evasion.
And alongside that, we should be cutting the tax burden on working people, starting by reversing the recent hike to National Insurance.
