🔥 Bursting on to the scene – it’s the Broxtowe Banger! 🎉

Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor Barbara Carr has partnered with Meat 4 U in Beeston and Barlows Butchers in Newthorpe to create a sizzling new sausage: the Broxtowe Banger!

This isn’t just any sausage – it’s a banger for a grill-iant cause. Both butchers will make a donation to the Mayor’s chosen charities, Broxtowe Youth Homelessness and Age UK Notts, at the end of her term based on the number of sausages sold.

So head over to Meat 4 U or Barlows Butchers, meat the banger, and relish in the knowledge you’ve done something good for Broxtowe. You could do wurst! 🌭

Final improvements have been made at Kimberley MWFC Recreation Ground, also known as ‘The Stag Ground’, as the club celebrated their 100th birthday on Saturday 29 August.

Improvements over the summer, part funded by the Kimberley Means Business Fund, included upgraded floodlights, improved drainage under the pitch, creating a more durable playing surface and improved experience for players, and new pitch barriers, which allow the club to bring in extra revenue from advertising.

Your bin will be collected a day later than your usual collection. So, if your bin is normally collected on a Wednesday, this week it will be collected on Thursday.

Bramcote Bereavement Services offers a complete funeral package which gives peace of mind that loved ones are taken care of locally, with dignity and respect, at an affordable price.

The service includes:

- Collection of the deceased from home or hospital in a private ambulance at any time of the day or night.
- Care and preparation at the state-of-the-art modern mortuary at Bramcote Crematorium.
- Dressing and placement in a coffin suitable for cremation.
- Liaison with family to complete all legal paperwork.
- Service and eulogy delivered by Bramcote Bereavement Service’s professional team.
- Medical referee fees, cremation, ash box and certificate. Cremated remains and certificate to be collected by applicant or nominated representative.
- Optional scattering of ashes in Bramcote Crematorium’s grounds (Monday to Friday). With or without family present.
- Options for Unattended cremation, an intimate service or a celebration service.

Join us on Sunday 6 September from 1:00pm to 4:00pm for Iron Giant: A Valley's Story - a free event at the legendary Bennerley Viaduct!

Entertaining you will be:

🎭 Beeston Players, telling the story of the viaduct from inception to modern day.
🎷 The Hot Dogs Brass Band bringing the area to life with live music.
⛏ David Coleman providing an interactive coal mining talk.
🎩 The Lost Luggage Porters and Period Prestidigitation performing Victorian themed street theatre on the skywalk.

This event is FREE, with free parking also available on site. Blue Badge holders should reserve a spot by emailing [email protected]

Come along, hear the story, see the shows, and grab a coffee and cake from the newly opened visitors centre and café.

How to recycle plastic trays:

👀 Make sure any plastic trays have no food or liquid left in them
🫗 Remove the plastic film lid and place in general waste, then
rinse the tray
♻ Place loose in your recycling bin
