A brilliant piece of Seil history shared with us this week 🔥

We were delighted to receive this photograph from Sandy Lobban, taken around 1988 when the Seil volunteer unit was first formed.

Sandy was Divisional Commander at the time and remembers the opening ceremony in the village hall, attended by Firemaster Clive Halliday, the Fire Committee Chairman and other guests. He described it as one of the highlights of his time in the service.

It’s a fantastic snapshot of the early days of the unit and a reminder of the people and community spirit that built what we have today.

A big thank you to Sandy for taking the time to send this on and for allowing us to share it.

🔥 Wildfire Warning for North and North East Scotland 🔥

There is a very high risk of wildfire in these areas for Friday, 20 March and Saturday, 21 March.

Every spark, even the smallest, has the potential to become a wildfire and cause a large amount of damage.

Help protect our landscapes, wildlife, and rural communities.

Share this to help spread the word.

A great example of why we recommend closing internal doors before you head to bed. Closed doors can help reduce the spread of fire and smoke, keeping your escape route free.

We are very saddened by the passing of Drew, a founding member of our station and one of the first in our community to step up and volunteer to help keep us all safe.

Drew was incredibly well thought of in the community and was not only a valued crew member but a friend to many of us, helping to build the strong sense of camaraderie that remains today.

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time. 🚒❤️

❄️ ICE SAFETY AT EASDALE PRIMARY ❄️

A huge thank you to P2–4 at Easdale Primary School for their fantastic attention, enthusiasm and participation during our Water Safety Scotland Ice Safety workshop this afternoon. You were all brilliant and asked some great questions 👏

A very special thank you to Emily for this beautiful picture – it absolutely made our day 🥰💙

Please remember: don’t test the ice and always stay safe around water.
