Excellent news for Chadderton! 🌟

Just look at all the successful bids through the Community Regeneration Partnership across our area.

This funding will make a real difference to people in Chadderton, supporting communities in a wide variety of ways.

We’re proud that a Labour Government is working hand in hand with your Labour-run Oldham Council to bring this kind of investment directly into our neighbourhoods.

Every single project will strengthen our communities, and it’s fantastic to see so many local groups recognised and supported.

It's official!

The Care Quality Commission has rated Adults Social Care Services in Oldham as 'GOOD'

Councillor Barbara Brownridge, Cabinet Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing, said:

“This is an excellent result for Oldham and a real credit to our staff and partners.

“Adult Social Care supports some of the most vulnerable people in our borough, helping older residents, people with disabilities and those with complex needs to live with independence, dignity and choice. I am extremely proud that people told inspectors they felt supported, listened to and treated with respect.

"It's no secret the pressure Adult Social Care teams across the country are under. Having to deliver more with less under incredibly difficult circumstances and coming out with a result like this is phenomenal.

“This report reflects the compassion, professionalism and commitment our workforce shows every day. I want to thank everyone across adult social care and our partner organisations for the outstanding work they do for the people of Oldham."

An update!

Update on Chadderton Park Day Service from Cllr Brownridge, Cabinet Member for Adults, Health & Wellbeing:

“Many residents may know that MioCare have proposed to close the Day Service for adults with learning disabilities that runs from Chadderton Park. We had been assured that affected residents would be involved the process to find alternative provision.

“After a consultation meeting yesterday (29th January) where families raised a number of concerns, myself and the Leader of the Council have requested MioCare to provide more detailed information about the reasons for the proposal and to hold a further round of consultation with families.

“As a resident focused Council we are continuning to explore options, no decisions have been made and won’t be made until after the consultation closes on the 26th February, and we will continue to speaking to the families affected.”
