Lets not forget protesters took to the streets holding 'Black Lives Matter' placards and calling for the police to be 'defunded'.

If it were not for leaked footage showing the truth, then these police officers would have wrongly lost their jobs.

How is it right that the Manchester Airport brothers won't face trial for attacking an armed police officer but that same officer faces a probe?

Scenes of PC Zachary Marsden kicking a prone Asian man in the head in July 2024 sparked outrage, with protesters taking to the streets holding 'Black Lives Matter' placards.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗿.

Since the last Council meeting no one has reached out to Reform UK. In what can only be described as going back to the bunker.

Despite making clear that our door is open, nothing has changed since Wednesday.

So let's set set out the facts.

1. We offered all parties the opportunity to put forward a new set of candidates in support for our still valid nomination to be Deputy Mayor.
We said we would withdraw our nomination for Mayor if this could be agreed. Effectively a neutral candidate for Mayor, that at least a majority of Councillors could agree on.

2. The Labour amendment to the Oldham Group Administration doesn't change the proposal by the Oldham Group, Tories, Royton Independents, and Lib Dems to put forward Councillor Ghafoor as Leader.

3. Labour will not be the default administration if one cannot be agreed. The Chief Executive will run the Council and services will continue as normal until an administration can be formed.

4. No one will talk to Reform UK let alone work with us. Yet our door has remained open.

We will be prepared for all eventualities.
