Inspired by Jo Cox’s belief that we have more in common than that which divides us, staff and students were warmly invited to join our ‘Great Get Together’ today on the top field.

It was a wonderful opportunity to step away from the usual routine, connect with others and support positive wellbeing. Students brought picnic blankets, games and snacks, enjoying a relaxed afternoon in the sunshine while celebrating kindness, community and belonging.

In the beautiful weather, some chose to sit in the shade while others joined in with football, rugby, rounders and catch. We were also delighted to be joined by some of the animals from Small Animal Club, including Ziggy the snake!

It was a special moment for everyone to reflect on the importance of looking after ourselves and each other. 💛

Summer Holiday Football Camp is back!
For boys & girls aged 7–15

Join us for fun, skills and confidence‑building sessions led by FA‑qualified coaches Dave Roberts & Mike Roberts. Children will learn passing, dribbling, shooting and enjoy small‑sided games all week long.

Week 1: 27–30 July
Week 2: 3–6 August
Week 3: 10–13 August
Week 4: 17–18 August

Time: 10am–2pm
Cost: £25 per day (10% off full‑week bookings, excl week 4)
Location: Earlswood Junior School, Redhill RH1 6JX

Extended Day Option (8am–6pm) - add Y‑Kids Holiday Club for an extra £25 per day (Tues–Thurs only).

Mindworks Surrey provides a dedicated out of hours helpline for parents and carers of children with suspected, or diagnosed, neurodevelopmental needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

It is free to call and open from 5pm-11pm, 7 days a week. The number to call is : 0300 222 5755

Our skilled and friendly advisers can talk carers and families through ways of calming down difficult situations and look at coping strategies.

🌟 Inspiring Futures with Dare to Dream

Our Year 9 students had a fantastic and inspiring day at WSP in Guildford as part of the Dare to Dream Programme.

As one of the programme’s key sessions, students had the opportunity to visit one of our sponsor workplaces and gain real insight into the world of work — and WSP certainly delivered.

The day began with a warm welcome, an introduction to the company and its history, followed by a tour of the offices. Students then met a range of WSP professionals and took part in a fun challenge — guessing each person’s role based on their story. It was a brilliant way to explore the wide variety of careers available and the different pathways people take.

After lunch, students got hands-on, working in teams to design and build a model stadium using the materials provided. Creativity, teamwork and problem-solving were all put to the test!

The day finished with a lively quiz and prize challenge covering facts, careers and WSP projects — the perfect mix of learning and fun.

A huge thank you to Dare to Dream and WSP for hosting us, sharing your time, and providing such a valuable and inspiring experience for our students. 👏

🚫 Reminder: Water Guns Not Permitted in School 🚫

With the recent warm weather, we have noticed an increase in students bringing water guns into school. While we completely understand the temptation to cool off, water guns are not allowed on school premises.

We would also like to remind families that any item shaped like a weapon is prohibited in school, regardless of its intended use. This is to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable in the school environment.

Any such items brought into school will be confiscated in line with our school policy.

Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.

Thank you to for coming into school last week and giving our students a fantastic golfing experience ⛳️

Students of all abilities had the opportunity to take some shots on the simulator and received expert guidance from a professional PGA golf coach. It was brilliant to see so many getting involved, learning new skills, and building confidence.
The experience provided valuable learning that will help to boost participation in golf here at Oxted School.
