'THURSDAY SPECIAL LITTER PICK':

DC grabbed three bags today, one was left at Boyes seating area bin, one at Clitheroe Street car park bin, and one at PLP HQ.

David Bowers and Tig reported two bags. Thank you David...

Bags needed:

I met the Burnley Council caged van at our start point today as they were emptying the litter bin there. I asked if they had any spare bags, and was handed a few. When I returned after today's litter pick I found the bin container had not been replaced inside the bin, and there was no bag inside it. See pic below...

I emailed Burnley Council Streetscene for more bags today, hoping to get a roll or two but was only offered 10 bags. It would be cheaper for me to buy bags from Tesco Padiham than to run over to Burnley for so few bags...

Very disappointed that our litter picking group can't be kept supplied with the bags we need, by a council that benefits greatly from the work we all put in, voluntarily.

Our next organised litter pick is this Saturday, starting at 1pm from Hambledon Street car park. All are welcome!

'SUPER SATURDAY LITTER PICK':

Six bags were deposited at our Clitheroe Street Car Park depot by DC and Joanne, plus another three bags reported by David Bowers and 'Tig'. Some fly-tipped items were also reported on the Love Clean Streets App for Burnley Council to remove, along with our bags.

Thank you Joanne and David, and to anyone else who may have solo litter-picked today. Every bag collected helps to make Padiham cleaner and greener for everyone!

Please continue litter picking during the week, as we always say: 'TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!'

Our next PLP organised litter pick is this Thursday at 1pm, starting as usual from Clitheroe Street car park...
