Today a defibrillator was installed at Harlyn Bay on the side of the Surf lifesaving club.
It was installed by Fleet with money raised from the community lifesaving fund.
Beachwise WiFi were happy to help by enabling the system to be hardwired to our internet router.

Getting a defibrillator on a patient who needs it can dramatically increase their survival rate.

Nice one for being there while they installed the system.

Great little double rescue performed last year by Ben Avery .bencong and Rhys Barfield .
Our Lifeguards do an amazing job credit to them all.

Lifeguards finished patrols on Sunday 1st of November.
They’ve done thousands of rescues and many lives were saved during this busy season. Well done to you all you are a credit to our special coastline.
Our advice is to only enter the sea when it is calm and know your own limits.
To find out where the permanent rips are and other lifesaving information on some of our local beaches visit https://beachwisewifi.com/north-cornwall/
More beaches will be set up over the winter months.
Stay safe this winter and remember if you see someone in difficulty dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.

So this happened today at Treyarnon Bay !
Lifeguards around the coast today have been warning people about the surges that occur during these conditions.
These people got caught in this foam surge and even the lifeguard patrol vehicle got swallowed up!
Thanks for the vid and well done for making sure every one was safe and accounted for afterwards 🤙

Horrible conditions out there today people !
If the Lifeguards have the red and yellow flags up please stay within your depth.

This swimmer was caught in the rip today at Constantine.
Lifeguards were quick to react to the situation with one paddling out on a rescue board and the other taking over the patrolled area.
As the lifeguard got closer to the swimmer she shouted that she was ok and would swim in so lifeguard Mike held off and made sure she reached the safety of the sand.
A strong reminder to swim and bodyboard between the red and yellow flags and remain in your depth if conditions aren’t good or asked to do so by Lifeguards.
Constantine and Treyarnon currently have very strong rips mid tide to low tide and will get stronger over the next few days.
Big swell is on the way with waves starting to increase this weekend and getting even bigger mid next week.
Expect Lifeguards to possibly fly the red flag and if the red and yellows are up STAY WAIST depth and if your children are going in the sea go in with them and stay close to them at all times.
Lifeguards are on duty 10am - 5 pm next week at
Stay safe this half term and listen to the Lifeguards!
Apologies for the bad filming ! It’s using my phone through a pair of binoculars!

This balloon traveled a long old way all the way from Ireland !!!! Washed up at Constantine Bay today !

It’s been pretty wild out there the past few days many of our beaches have been red flagged due to dangerous conditions.
Although today the rain is due to hold off the surf has picked up and the wind is also due to increase so it’s possible you will see the red flag again today on some lifeguarded beaches.
Thursday it looks like it may settle down for a couple of days before another big swell hits us on the weekend.
