New defibrillator to be installed in decommissioned BT telephone kiosk at The Parade, Pelton- Pelton Parish Council and Urpeth Parish Council have adopted the telephone kiosk at The Parade, Pelton and are jointly funding the installation of a defibrillator in the kiosk. The installation will take place on 12th August 2026.

In addition, Community Heartbeat Trust who are installing the equipment are providing a free Community Defibrillator Seminar to take place on Tuesday 4th August 2026 from 6.30pm to 8pm in Pelton Community Centre. See poster for further details.

We would like to send a big thank you to everyone who volunteered and attended our Summer Fair on Sunday 19.7.26. Highlights were the sack race between the Police and the Air Cadets, comedy gold, and the fun the children had taking part in the various races. The Pelton Parish Summer Fair wouldn't be able to work without the help we receive from the wonderful Cadets from 1507 Chester le Street Squadron. Thank you to you all.

Pelton Parish Summer Fair- 19th July 2026 from 11am to 1pm on the Roseberry Playing Fields. We have lots of activities available to take part in - crafts, sack races, hula hoop races, obstacle course- see below for the timetable and further information. Local organisations will be there- 1st Newfield Scouts, Ouston Brownies and Guides, Grange Villa Community Enterprise Centre, Pelton Youth Project and Pelton Community Centre. Come along and support your community organisations. The Fire Service and Police Team will be there, subject to operational requirements. This is always popular with the big kids at heart as well.

We will have free crafts - design your own boomerang, free face painting and so much more....

The following information has been provided by Northumbrian Water to update residents on works in Pelton and details of a Customer Information Event at Pelton Community Centre from 5pm to 7pm are below.

"You may be aware that we have been working on land next to Pelton Community Primary School, upgrading our sewer network, in the first of two projects in Pelton aimed at improving and protecting the environment by reducing spills from storm overflows.

As we near completion of that work, we are preparing to move on to the second project, on land south of The Wynd, and have written to customers in the area, inviting them to meet the project team to find out more about the plans and ask any questions they may have.

Rachel and her children, Ted who is 8 & Polly who is 6 have recently asked permission from Pelton Parish Council to hold a tombola in Thornton Pocket Park which was fully supported by the parish councillors. Rachel, Ted and Polly have raised a fantastic amount of £80 for Dementia UK. Well done to you all and thank you for raising monies for a well deserved cause. See below for photos.
