If you are using needles please dispose of them safely. Don't throw them in drains or leave them in places where children or other people could come into contact with them. Pharmacies that offer the needle exchange scheme and Aspire- the Adult Drug Treatment Service will happily take your used needles and dispose of them safely! Remember there are also community needle bins where needles can be disposed of safely. See photos for needle exchange sign.

Alcohol Awareness week 18th-22nd November 2013. In line with the National Campaign for Alcohol Awareness Week which this year has a theme ‘conversation about alcohol’ there are many activities taking place across Cambridgeshire to raise awareness about the impact of alcohol use.

Remember mixing substances like he**in, benzos, methadone and alcohol put you at an increased risk of an overdose.

If you witness an overdose:
1. Put them in the recovery position (if your unsure how to do this ask when you dial 999 and speak to a drugs worker at Aspire)
2. Diall 999 (just tell them someone is unconscious)
3. Stay with them until the ambulance arrives, then provide as much details as possible.

Remember dont panic, keep calm, keep safe.

He**in purities are increasing, along with overdoses in certain regions of the UK.

Please be mindful of new gear, new dealers and your tolerance levels- use less and if you have not used for a while be aware your tolerance levels will be lower. Don't use alone and if you feel unwell at all call an ambulance.
