FGCT Veterans Outreach

FGCT Veterans Outreach Plymouth has one of the Largest Armed Forces & Veterans Communities in the Country.

We are here to support Veterans i.e. “anyone who has served for at least one day in Her Majesty's Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve), or Merchant Mariners who have seen duty on legally defined military operations.” There dependence, partners and carers. Also Those currently serving in our Armed Forces, their dependants and partners.

Each quarter, Our Space Armed Forces run comedy workshops led by professional comedians, which culminate in relaxed comedy club nights in The Lab, featuring both the participants and established comedy performers.

Don't forget that Pie and Mash veteran Supper Night is this Thursday, the 14th May at Tamar View Community Complex in Barne Barton. This month we are raising money for Devon & Cornwall Food Action - DCFA who support us through the year as well as many other Veterans in need.

From next month we will be back at our usual ate of the First Thursday of the month.

As we head into May we kick start the month with two great events.

This week, for all Female Veterans, we have our regular Female Veterans Drop-in at Woodland Fort Community Centre from 10.00 where we also have SHE Plymouth coming along to give advise and support.

Then Next week on Monday 11th May we have our LGBT Veterans Group, supported by Fighting with Pride at the ELM Community Centre and Wellbeing Hub from 10.00. Then on Thursday 14th May from 18.00 we have Our AF&V Pie & Mash Supper at Tamar View Community Complex, where this months good cause is Devon & Cornwall Food Action - DCFA.

Also their is every Friday Argyle Community Trust Veterans Drop-in Coffee Morning at The Hub at Foulston Park which starts at 11.00, but you can always come early and grab a cheap breakfast from the cafe.

As we fly through this year a couple of things coming up in May to put in your diary:

Thursday 7th May: Female Veterans Drop-in Hub at Woodland Fort Community Centre, with SHE Plymouth coming along to speak to the group.

Monday 11th May: Armed Forces & Veterans LGBTQ Hub at ELM Community Centre and Wellbeing Hub, supported by Fighting with Pride. (Which is a week later than normal due to Bank Holiday).

Thursday 14th May: Veterans Pie & Mash Supper Night at Tamar View Community Complex who will be raising money for Devon & Cornwall Food Action - DCFA this month. (Please note this is a week later than usual due to staff holidays).

Thank you to everyone who came to last weeks Veterans Pie & Mash Night at Tamar View Community Hub, we managed to raise £100 for Endeavour Archers which will help towards their target of £4000 to repair their roof.

Next month we are again a week later than usual due to holidays, so Pie & Mash will be on the 14th May starting at 18.00, and this months good cause will be Devon & Cornwall Food Action - DCFA who support veterans in many, many ways, including our Veterans Pie and Mash Nights.

Due to Easter Pie & Mash Night is this Thursday at Tamar View Community Centre, and this month chosen charity is Endeavo...
