Impact Story: Veteran support for Nick Martin following trauma.

Royal Navy veteran Nick Martin needed support after a traumatic brain injury, a heart attack, and a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A former teaching assistant of 17 years and a dedicated volunteer who is always first to step in for others, this time it was Nick that needed a helping hand 👇

The national VALOUR website is now live.

That means if you're a veteran or family member anywhere in the country, you can go online today and find your local support options, or put in a request directly to the Office for Veterans' Affairs.

Here in Devon and Cornwall, Improving Lives Plymouth has been named as the main listed provider in that directory, working alongside Veterans Outdoors and Veterans Regroup. We're deeply proud, and honoured by that fact. It shows the Ministry of Defence and Office for Veterans' Affairs trust us to do real good for veterans locally, and they're backing that with investment to help us deliver it.

Go and use the website today, and get ready for our local offer to take shape over the next couple months.

Based in Plymouth City Centre ✅
Sattelite Hub in Truro ✅
Drop-in's all over Cornwall and Devon ✅
New programmes of activities ✅

Today at The Hub at Foulston Park Argyle Community Trust Veterans Cafe, we had a very informative talk by The Chestnut Appeal, about the imports of getting tested for prostate cancer, as well as the Know Your Numbers Team from NHS Livewell Southwest.

All so we had a visit by Elise Norcott, one of the Miss Great Britain Devon Finalists, who came to present a check for £271.32, which she has raised to support Help For Heroes.

From everyone here at FGCT Veterans Outreach and the Argyle Community Veterans Cafe, GOOD LUCK, for Sunday and Thank You for your support.
