Thursday 4 June is 'Discover Your Library' day!

2026 is the National Year of Reading so what better time to (re) discover your local library! In addition to our fantastic selection of physical and digital books that can borrowed for free with a library card, our libraries are places to connect, learn, create and discover.

Whether you’re a lifelong member or haven’t visited in years, this is your invitation to rediscover everything your library has to offer. From fun family sessions such as Rhymetimes and Story and Craft to a growing range of community events for all ages, there’s plenty on offer!

A new listing on Connect Torfaen is looking for volunteers to help maintain and improve the canal in Cwmbran — from gardening and grass cutting to caring for locks and pathways.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered at Northfields today as part of Make a Difference Week.

Three volunteers braved the weather to rescue a few trolleys from the river and pulled 1,518 Himalayan balsam plants.

Tomorrow, members of the environment team will be at Tirpentwys Local Nature Reserve balsam bashing if you would like to get involved. Meet in the car park at 10am.
