George Herdman Library The George Herdman Library has over 20,000 books, a selection of CDs, audio books, children's area, public computers & free Wi-Fi.

The George Herdman Library has a choice of over 20,000 books including all the latest novels, biographies, great travel section, art
and crafts, war and history. We also have an extensive collection of Manx books, CD’s of popular authors, travel and biography bestsellers. There is also a fabulous children’s section to interest tots to teenagers, books, audio books dvd's and jigsaws. You can also

access the library catalogue online and search for your favourite author, the latest bestseller or document search for research projects and reserve books for future reading. You can also re-new your books on line and extend the date of loan, look up your record, check all the authors/books you have read in the past and e-mail the library with requests, messages, events, etc. The library also provides free Wi-fi access on your own device, as well as fast Broadband access available from 2 public computers

A colour printer is also available as well as a photocopying and laminating service (chargeable). There are various events throughout the year including Children's Storytime on Thursday morning at 11am, Knit and Natter on Mondays at 2.30pm, Summer Reading Challenge, Treasure Hunts, Book Sales and more.

June is Pride month so we are celebrating in the library with book displays and rainbows. We have a wide range of LGBTQ+ literature for all ages and provide a supportive, welcoming space for everyone.

Plenty of beautiful new books in the library today including the latest fiction by Anthony Horowitz, David Baldacci and Jane Harper.

Non- fiction includes the Walking Cure and Food noise and the Swedish Art of aging well plus a history of the TT to get us in the mood for the next few weeks!

Also we have some gorgeous new children's choices including picture books, Little People big dreams and some great Young Adult titles including the new Adam Silvera.

Pop in and have a browse - open 10.30am to 12.30pm then 2.30pm to 5pm today (Friday)

New books today in the library including the latest fiction by Dorothy Koomson, Lynda la Plante and Claire Douglas.

Non-fiction includes the viral poetry of Donna Ashworth and bestselling Meditation for Mortals.

Plenty of children's titles to choose from too including prize winning picture books.
