Well after the traditional carols from the Afan Stale Voice choir (accompanied by the waitresses - but not the ones from "Christmas Wrapping" fame) we've signed off until the new year. (Although many of our members will be consuming Turkey whilst perambulating).

So for us it's mince pies and eggnog whilst we rehearse the initiation ritual ready for our candidate in the New Year.

So from the Master, Wardens and Brethren of the lodge we wish you all a wonderful Christmas period and a healthy and enjoyable new year.

The Council for Freemasonry in Great Britain has issued the following statement in response to an article published by The Spectator.

The new-made Companion soon becomes aware on his Exaltation into the Holy Royal Arch Degree that the wonderful and beautiful Temple built by King Solomon was completely destroyed. Suddenly that aspect of moving towards perfection is shattered on his entry to the degree and almost certainly causes confusion in his mind as to why such a calamity should happen?

Last Thursday the lodge held an excellent explanation of the first degree tracing board. W. Bro. Martin who delivered the ritual is pictured with the 4 Entered Apprentices present for the ceremony.

The entered apprentices were from various local lodges demonstrating not just the continuing interest of Freemasonry but also the strong history of mutual support and visiting across the Port Talbot lodges
