PUB OF THE YEAR
This years winners in a very close race was the Shearer arms portsmouth who piped the Ship Anson to the trophy - Big Congrats to all the Shearer's Customers and staff.
On presenting the trophy last Saturday we were told that the landlord 'MARTY' is saying good bye this week. Enjoy your retirement Marty and thank you for all your support to Walk The Island !!

To all of the pubs who took part in our Pub of the Year competition — what an effort! This year the amount raised through the pubs more than doubled last year’s total.
With 15 pubs taking part, our Top 3 for 2026 were:
🥇 1st – The Shearer
🥈 2nd – Ship Anson
🥉 3rd – The Phoenix, Southsea

And of course, the biggest THANK YOU to our amazing walkers. Without you, none of this would be possible. Every mile walked, every pound raised and every person who supported the event helped us reach this incredible total.
