Medals Come Home to Blackpool
Friends, family, and especially our military men and women please come and stand with us on Saturday 12th September.
We are welcoming home the medals of Private Jesse Higson, a Blackpool lad who served with the 13th Battalion, The King’s Regiment (Liverpool) the Chindits. Jesse died in Burma on 20 May 1944. He was 21. He has no known grave. His name is remembered on the Rangoon Memorial and on our own Blackpool Cenotaph.
Now his medals are coming home.
Saturday 12th September
• 4.00 pm — Service of Thanksgiving, Amazing Graze Church, 44 Bolton Street, South Shore
• 5.30–6.00 pm — Blackpool Cenotaph
• From 6.30 pm — The Talbot, Blackpool
