Hay Town Council is exploring the possibility of installing InPost parcel lockers at the Pavilion, adjacent to the Bowls Club.

As part of our consideration process, we would welcome feedback from residents and users of the area. We are particularly interested in hearing your views on the potential benefits, any concerns you may have, and how such a facility might best serve the community.

We kindly ask that comments remain constructive and respectful to help inform the Council's discussions.

Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts.

🎉 Exciting News for Hay-on-Wye! 🎉

Hay Town Council is thrilled to announce that we have successfully secured £83,000 of funding from the Pride in Place Impact Fund, administered by Powys County Council.

This funding will enable us to undertake significant improvements to the public toilet facilities at Oxford Road, creating a more welcoming, accessible, and sustainable facility for residents and visitors alike.

We are committed to supporting the local economy and will be working with local businesses and contractors wherever possible throughout the project.

Subject to final approvals and preparations, we are hoping that work will commence in early September.

We would like to thank Powys County Council and everyone involved in supporting this application. We look forward to sharing updates as the project progresses.

The owner has been notified and we are awaiting action to make the area safe.

In the meantime, please exercise caution and consider an alternative route if necessary.

UK TOWN OF CULTURE UPDATE FROM HAY TOWN COUNCIL
Following our Expression of Interest submission at the end of March, the shortlist announcement was expected in Spring.
We have now been informed that due to the ‘exceptional response..... the expert advisory panel require additional time to assess all of the bids’.
The shortlisted towns will now be announced by the end of July.
We still hope and dream for a positive outcome and the additional long-term exposure it will give to Hay.

Following recent inspections, the red “rocket” climbing frame at Brecon Road Playground has been classified as unsafe due to a number of issues, including head entrapment risks and deterioration of the safety surfacing beneath the equipment.
For public safety, the equipment will need to be removed.
The newer tripod tower next to the rocket fully complies with modern playground safety standards and remains safe to use.
Brecon Road Playground is one of Hay Town Council’s current project areas, and councillors are actively looking at future improvements and development opportunities for the site.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work towards making the playground safer and better for everyone.
