The Community Council purchased and looks after two defibrillators, sited in High Street (old phone kiosk and Primary School).

Encourage your friends and neighbours to become lifesavers and become confident in using cpr etc.-

Restart a Heart Live 2026 returns on Thursday 1 October 2026, offering free online CPR awareness training to people across Wales and the UK.

Please help spread the word and inspire residents, community groups and local primary schools to get involved. Dedicated school sessions will be available in Welsh and English, helping children learn valuable lifesaving skills in a fun and accessible way.

Hot weather is forecast next week (22 – 26 June), so our waste and recycling crews will be starting earlier than usual to avoid the hottest part of the day 🥵

**Please put your bins and boxes out by 6:30am**

Good morning New Radnor residents: I have received a message from Radnor Ranges regarding their current application to deregister an area of common ground and this is as follows -

'I am hoping you can assist with what appears to be confusion with the common land that Radnor Range is seeking to deregister.

The bridle paths that follow the range boundary will remain, it is only the common land within the restricted area that we seek to deregister, the local community and those who visit here for leisure will see no change to their walking routes.

I would also wish to assure all, we take our environmental impact seriously and ensure all of our activities have no impact on the SSSI area. Each trial includes an environmental assessment and I am the one who ultimately approves the trial.

Recently we welcomed Natural Resources Wales onto the range to inspect the SSSI (Alastair Hotchkiss), he departed with no findings. Gary Burton, Operations Director'

While the de-registration of common ground may still be a concern to residents the Range confirms that the removal of rights of way is not part of the application. It would be a separate process if it was requested - via the Local Authority (Powys County Council).

At the meeting held on 11th June Cllr. Elio Giordano was elected Chairman for the year with the Vice-Chairman being Edward Powell. Thanks to Cllr. Harris for serving as the previous Chairman for a number of years.

Dog Bag Dispensers:

Please only take what you need when using the free bags in the dispensers. In recent weeks one dispenser has been completely emptied twice and this is not normal use. The whole community pays for the bags via the Community Council part of the Council Tax bill. Please be fair to all and use responsibly. Thank you.

The Community Council is keen to work for the village and surrounding area – it has recently obtained funding for two village defibrillators, provided a village Christmas tree and lights, and supports the annual village carnival. The Community Council sets its budget for 2026-27 at its meeting on 8th January. Is there a project you think the Council should consider funding or organising? Do you run a community group that would appreciate a small grant?
