I was aware of a Prestatyn High Street redevelopment project group meeting being held at the beginning of September. Leaving this important issue to the Town Council meeting in September would have been too late for the project meeting who I feel were going to rubber stamp their proposals of removing 20 of the 45 to 50 car parking spaces along the high street. Losing so many parking spaces I felt would kill the high street and many of its businesses.

I called for an extraordinary full council meeting and forced the Mayor to be the second Councillor so the meeting could be called.

All councillors and members of the public were given the opportunity to speak and voice their concerns.

I am pleased to say the outcome was a loud NO to losing any car parking spaces along the whole length of Prestatyn High Street.

The Town Council HAVE NOW DEBATED the issue and on behalf of the people of Prestatyn will be sending a strong and clear message to the project group NOT TO LOSE ANY PARKING SPACES ALONG THE LENGTH OF PRESTATYN HIGH STREET.

I am very pleased that the Town Council have come together to send this message of what the town wants AND NOT what the project group think we need or what they think we want

I am in favour of enhancing what we have. Re-tarmaccing the road. Repairing pavements. Introducing more drop kerbs. Enhancing throughways from Parc Prestatyn to and from the High street. We still need a safe and pleasant high street for shoppers of all ages and abilities.
