I was out delivering our latest 'Focus' leaflet this morning in the amazing 🌞 and speaking to some of our residents.

Main issues raised:

The proposed HMO on Sharoe Green Lane - update to follow.
The road surface of St Vincent’s Road - this was raised previously by Fiona Duke Liberal Democrat and was told no, but it will be raised again.
Parking and traffic on Vincent’s Road during the week - we have requested for the local PCSO to monitor this and enforce where needed.
Bins not being collected - this was raised at the last full council meeting, and will be raised again. Residents are asked to report any missed bin online. (If you let me know, I can raise it on your behalf, if anyone is struggling)

♻️ Don’t waste the chance to have your say!

Preston City Council is encouraging residents to take part in a consultation that will help shape Lancashire’s future waste and recycling services.

The Lancashire Waste Partnership is developing a new waste strategy for 2026–2036 and wants to hear your views. The partnership brings together Lancashire County Council, district councils and unitary authorities from across the county to deliver sustainable and effective waste services for local communities.

The proposed strategy, A Low Waste Lancashire, sets out how waste and recycling will be managed, collected and reduced over the next decade, helping to create a cleaner, greener future for everyone.

Your views matter!
âś… Complete the short survey (it takes less than 10 minutes)
âś… Share your feedback on future waste and recycling services
âś… Help shape the final strategy

👉 Follow the link in the comments to take part.

Your responses will help inform the final Waste Strategy, due to be published later in 2026.

The consultation closes on 9 August – don’t bin your opportunity to have your say!

The residents stood shoulder to shoulder when the planning application for the proposed HMO on Sharoe Green Lane was heard and rejected by all committee members on 2nd July.

It was a 'No show' by the agent or the applicant, Sapphire Properties.

Our local resident, representing the community was clear and concise... We do not want a HMO here!!

This is the 3rd application and now pending a 3rd appeal.

All residents are urged to voice their concerns, objections and or support by following the link and using the appeal reference number :- 6011180.

residents are still having issues with bin collections. Raised multiple 'missed bin' reports this evening for residents in Sharoe Green circ 150 houses.

"Demand Better" is not just a slogan, its means we're tired of the sub-standard service.
