What an absolute fumbling spluttering response. Reeves is seemingly incapable of answering a simple question ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ Businesses and residents across Bassetlaw need clarity and confidence in our Chancellor.

Tonight Bassetlaw County, District and Parish Councillors attended a meeting supported by Gabriel Gregory NFU, to hear how specialist rural policing teams are delivering real results across Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The message was clear: dedicated rural crime teams, intelligence-led policing, strong partnerships with rural communities and proactive prevention can reduce rural crime and increase public confidence.

Sadly, Nottinghamshire does not currently have a dedicated Rural Crime and Intelligence Unit operating in the way demonstrated by other forces this evening. Given the scale of our rural communities, farms and villages, our county deserves the same specialist focus.

Examples of best practice were shared by Lincolnshire & Leicestershire Police ๐Ÿ‘ฎ.

I am calling on the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner and our Chief Constable to work together to establish a dedicated Rural Crime and Intelligence Unit, with the officers, expertise and intelligence capability needed to tackle organised rural crime, support victims and protect our countryside.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Our rural communities deserve nothing less.
Thank you to Cllr Matt Turner (Sturton Ward) for organising the event.

Itโ€™s a disaster.

Today I joined Cllr Andrew McCallum to visit what is believed to be the largest illegal waste site in the UK. ๐Ÿ‘‰ What I saw shocked me.

An estimated 59,000 tonnes of waste have been dumped across the English countryside, on land close to a area of Scientific Interest. There were no warning signs, no visible remediation work taking place, and not a single person on site addressing the problem.

How can this be allowed to happen in Bassetlaw?

The problem raises serious concerns about environmental damage, public health, wildlife, and the impact on local residents who have been left to live alongside this growing blight.

Cllr McCallum spoke about the challenges this poses for the community.

The Environment Agency, landowners, and those with the power to enforce the law must now explain how a site of this scale has been allowed to develop and what urgent steps are being taken to clean it up.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Comments welcome.

A few hard truths for our farming community.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Labour keeps driving up costs, squeezing family budgets and making life harder for the farmers who help feed our nation.

๐Ÿšง Urgent Repairs Needed โ€“ South Leverton Bridge ๐Ÿšง

Following further reports from concerned residents, I visited the damaged bridge just outside South Leverton today to assess the situation.

The condition of the brickwork is a cause for concern, and I have now submitted full details to Nottinghamshire County Council requesting that urgent repairs are carried out. ๐Ÿงฑ

I will continue to monitor the situation and push for the necessary works to be completed urgently.

Men who gang r***d children are only spending a few years in jail.

Itโ€™s abhorrent. Iโ€™d gladly see them get the death penalty.

The very least we can do for the victims is ensure they are jailed for life. And never, ever let out.

My Grooming Gangs Bill would achieve that. To register your support and urge your MP to do so too: https://www.robertjenrick.com/ggpetition
