RAMSEY TOWN COUNCIL

Dear Resident,

Newtown Road Play Area Improvement Works

Ramsey Town Council is writing to inform you of improvement works that will shortly commence at the Newtown Road Play Area.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday 8 June and is expected to be completed during the same week.

The first phase of the project will focus on replacing the existing perimeter fencing and extending the pre-school and toddler play area. These improvements will create a larger, safer and more enjoyable space for young children and their families.

This work forms part of a wider programme of investment in the play area. The Council is currently developing plans for further enhancements later this year, including upgraded play equipment aimed at improving facilities for pre-school and toddler-aged children.

During the works there may be some temporary inconvenience, including construction activity and restricted access to parts of the site. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption and complete the works as quickly as possible.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while these improvements are carried out and look forward to delivering an enhanced facility for local families.

If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact Ramsey Town Council.

Yours faithfully,

Ramsey Town Council

Public Toilet Improvement Works and New Access System.
Ramsey Town Council would like to advise residents and visitors that work will commence on Monday 1st June to install a new door access system at the public toilets as part of an ongoing programme of improvements to the facilities.
The works are expected to be completed by the end of the day Tuesday 2nd June. During this period, the toilets maybe unavailable or subject to temporary disruption while the installation is carried out.
Once the new system is operational, the public toilets will move to a small pay-to-enter charge. This change has been introduced to help reduce anti-social behaviour, vandalism, and the misuse of the facilities, while also helping to support the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the toilets.
The Council is committed to providing clean, safe, and accessible public conveniences for residents and visitors, and we believe these measures will help improve the experience for everyone using the facilities.
We appreciate your patience during the installation works and thank you for your understanding and support.

The heat health alert for the East of England has been upgraded to amber from 2pm today (22 May) until 5pm on 28 May, with temperatures set to soar over the next few days.

While we hope people enjoy the warm weather, please remember to do so safely and look out for others who may be at a higher risk of becoming unwell.

If you have to go outside, try to keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm when it’s at its hottest, walk in the shade, apply sunscreen regularly, wear a hat and light clothes, and drink plenty of water.

Staying indoors? Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun. ☀️
