Today we pause to recognise International Missing Children’s Day, a moment observed around the world and felt deeply in local communities — including here in Surrey.
Children and young people may go missing for many reasons, often connected to vulnerability, instability or feeling unheard. For families, carers and communities, the impact can be lasting and deeply distressing.
In fostering, we see how safe relationships, consistent care and trusted adults can make a real difference in helping children feel secure, valued and believed in. Feeling safe enough to stay, to talk, and to be supported matters.
Today is not about statistics, but about care, compassion and commitment — and about continuing to work together locally to keep children safe and supported.
We hold this day with quiet respect, and a shared responsibility to protect every child’s wellbeing. 💙
