We have had concerns recently from residents saying too many large vehicles visiting the village for the first time are going straight on down Church Street rather than turning left at the Black Bull.

So we asked that new signage was painted on the road when the resurfacing work was done this week. Hopefully that will make some difference!

The Parish Council was deeply saddened to learn of Junior Slater’s death last week. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to all of his family, friends and anyone who knew and loved him.

Safety on the river will be discussed at future council meetings which you are welcome to attend.

The next meeting will take place on Monday 15th June at 7.30pm at St Peter and St Paul Parish Centre on Stydd Lane.

Update on car park closure

As you will have seen if you have driven past, Ribchester Pope Croft Car Park is temporarily closed this week for re-surfacing work.

Ribble Valley Borough Council informs us that the main re-surfacing is due to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, (January 28 and 29), with line-marking planned for Friday (January 30). Please don't park on the car park whilst the work takes place.

We appreciate this is an inconvenience to all the regular users, but the results should make it worthwhile. Thanks for your co-operation during this week.
