Welcome to new and old likers and followers. I just thought I’d write a little bit about Tinker Tots Childminding, on the following pages you will find information about who I am, the setting and what your child could be doing if you decide to use my services.
About me
My name is Rebecca Dozey, also referred to as Becca, Bexy and Bex! I am a wife and mum to two young children (Ella-Rose, 11 & Harrison,8). We also have a lovely cocker spaniel, Poppy who is nearly 2 and a rabbit called floppy! Our childcare setting is based in the lovely village of Middleton tyas!
Im currently a part time trainee teacher due to graduate in 2022 and part time childminder 💗 so have a wealth of expanding experience of various age ranges! I also hold numerous other qualifications such as , Level 3 in Children & young peoples workforce, paediatric first aid certificate, Forest Schools training, and speech and language training and have an Open Degree with the Open University focused on children and education. These has developed numerous elements of experience including elements such as child psychology which has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of children’s emotional and mental well-being.
I started childminding in January 2011 after I had my eldest daughter Ella-Rose. It is my top priority to provide a safe, welcoming, fun and engaging environment for your children through a variation of activities and outings. I have a passion for helping children to grow, and develop to their full potential whilst learning through play.
About the setting
Tinker Tots Childminding offers a caring home from home environment, whilst following the curriculum of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our home has a lovely, dedicated playroom (with dedicated toilet/basin leading off) with direct access to the large garden with various areas for exploration (wendy house, climbing frame, slide, swings, mud kitchen….).
Child led and free play is encouraged, we may have themes and activities throughout the year which the children will be encouraged to participate in but it is not essential and these will follow on from children’s interests within the setting and at home.
The use of outdoors is greatly important to our setting. We do always aim to go outdoors every day, exploring in all weathers. 🌧 ☀️ ⛈
We also usually attend weekly outings to groups (music sessions, playgroups, wackadayz etc…) and places of interest (museums, Thorpe Perrow, Kiplin Hall, river, farm visits etc…). We love to get out and about exploring various places! Any outings which we may go on that may be a little further afield, such as the beach I will inform you of in advance.
Current outings - As always these will be risk assessed, however places will be reviewed and considered with current guidelines and situations as they are to ensure we only do visits or walks to quiet places and ensuring the children’s safety and health, as always are paramount. We will review groups as we feel it is safe to begin attending these again. These will be discussed with parents.
Opening Hours – The setting is open between the hours of 9-3 , if you require care outside of these hours please feel free to discuss your requirements with me.
Meals- Lunch and snacks are offered to all children that I care for. These are provided at no extra cost when your child attends over the hours of lunch or snack time
As an Ofsted registered setting Tinkers tots follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)- The EYFS is a statutory framework that all child care providers must work with if they care for children from birth to 5 years. It covers the development of your child and has 7 areas of learning, these are:
• Personal, Social & emotional development
•Communication, & language
•Physical development
• Understanding the world
•Literacy
• Mathematics
• Expressive Arts & Design
Each Early Years child in my care will have a learning journal. This journal will include observations, artwork & photographs of your child; you as their parent are welcome to look through this any time. I welcome your feedback and input into these journals as a part of working together for your child.
Hope this helps give a little more information about me and my setting 🙂
If you’d like any more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
