REETH COMMUNITY BUS FUNDRAISER

Saturday 6th December there will be a Tabletop fundraiser for your community bus. From 10am to 12noon in the Memorial Hall, Reeth.

There will also be refreshments, tombola, and raffle and of course cake!

If you would like to book a table, please email or leave a message asap on 01748 880021 [email protected]

Any donations of cakes, tombola and raffle prizes will be gratefully received, so dig out those unwanted gifts and any help on the day would be more than appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you all on the day to support your local charity as these are always fun events with a great atmosphere and did, I mention cake??

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS WANTED

Fulfil a childhood dream?
As a child, did you ever dream of becoming a bus driver? Well, now you can convert your dream to a reality. The Yellow Bus (AKA Reeth and District Community Transport) needs more drivers - and YOU could be one of them!
What’s involved? Chuffing in and around the dale in the yellow bus, picking people up, dropping them off, taking them on shopping trips, jolly outings to interesting places, less jolly (but essential) journeys for hospital visits. You can do regular weekly drives, or occasional trips as required.
What’s needed? A clean driving licence, but no special or additional driving qualifications; your year of birth must be higher than 1955 (ie you are under 70); the confidence to find your way around; patience and friendliness.
What do you get? A great view from an elevated driving position; the satisfaction that comes from knowing you are doing something that is of enormous value and enhances people’s lives by getting them out and about; the opportunity to see places (free) that you may not have been to before.

If you feel that driving a mini bus isn’t quite your bag, you can still help the Yellow Bus to continue providing this really valuable service to the community by joining the RDCT board. You can help to steer the charity in the right direction by attending regular board meetings, and having an input into the decision- making, fund-raising and other behind-the-scene activities.
Make it your (belated) new year’s resolution to do your bit for the community – it will be hugely appreciated.

Give Gail, RDCT manager, a call now to find out more – 01748 880021 or email [email protected]

Yesterday we had a meeting at Reeth Memorial Hall to Honour our courageous and hard working Volunteers. Without who our Community bus would not have been able to run and function as part of the Swaledale & Arkengarthdale Community Covid Hub. The bus has worked flat out with the help of our selfless volunteers, delivering medicines/Groceries as well as other non food items, it’s taken our most vulnerable people to important appointments as well, and it’s been a god send to North Yorkshire County Council. And as a thank you Stuart Martin who is Chairman of NYCC and Margaret Atkinson who is Vice Chair, Presented Our Charity Manager Gail Hall with a Plaque. (As seen in the photo). I’m also glad to inform you that our Monday and Saturday Day trips are starting up again, as are our weekly shopping trips. So please watch this space for dates and destinations. Please keep supporting your Community Bus. 🚌 🚌🚌

Kind Regards

Richard Kimmage

We would like to say thank you to Jennifer Scott and her colleagues at the Leyburn Coop for raising over £1400 as part of their community funding programme. Without actions and efforts like these initiatives, Your community Bus would cease to exist. Thank you also to all who chose Reeth & District Community Transport as their local charity at the COOP. 😎👍🏻 🚌
