The Infantry Training Centre in Catterick delivers basic and initial trade training to British Army

Exercise Northern Bayonet Warrior 26

Members of ITC successfully completed Ex NBW, trekking to Kanchenjunga Base Camp (North) at 5,143m, beneath the majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga—the world’s third highest peak.

One of the most remote and demanding trails in eastern Nepal, the journey tested endurance, resilience, leadership, and teamwork at every step. Notably, 6 members qualified as Summer Mountain Foundation (SMF) during the expedition.

An unforgettable experience that also deepened cultural understanding of the Gurkhas and Nepal.

Every Gurkha soldier will conduct basic and infantry training at ITC, with those not going to the Royal Gurkha Rifles going on to their special to arm training in the engineers, logistics, signals, staff and personnel support, or band.
