Acre Homecare

Acre Homecare We believe in care that involves our Clients and works with them to make sure they are confident that our Carers are acting in their best interest.

Acre Homecare is a Domiciliary Care provider based in the Rochdale area that ensures quality care is supplied to our Clients so they are left feeling safe, secure and supported in their own homes. We achieve this by ensuring all our Carers match the high expectations we have set for ourselves through a rigorous selection process, and by consulting with our Clients on a personal level before we beg

in delivering Care. Acre Homecare was founded in 2022 by Gill Nelson and James Guy. James and Gill have known each other and have previously worked together on and off for 15 years in the Rochdale area. Following the pandemic, we identified a need for local services delivered by a Rochdale organisation. Our experiences through one of social care’s most difficult periods showed us that local communities are best serviced by organisations with local experience, staff and skills.

What Does Independence Look Like to You?

Independence means something different to everyone.

It might be making your own breakfast, choosing what to wear, going shopping, spending time in the garden, meeting friends, or simply deciding how you want to spend your day.

Receiving care and support shouldn't mean losing those everyday choices. The right support should help people continue doing the things they can and want to do, while providing a helping hand when it's needed.

Because good care isn't about taking over. It's about listening, encouraging choice, and supporting people to live their lives in the way that matters to them. πŸ’™

Staying Connected Matters

Meaningful connections can make a big difference to our everyday wellbeing. Sometimes, something as simple as sharing a cup of tea, having a friendly conversation, enjoying a favourite activity, or going for a short walk together can brighten someone's day.

For people receiving care at home, staying socially connected can help maintain confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.

It's not always about doing something big. Often, it's the small moments of conversation, laughter, and companionship that mean the most. πŸ’™

If you or someone you love could benefit from a little extra support and companionship at home, our friendly team would be happy to have a chat.

πŸ’™ Your Day, Your Way

Receiving support shouldn't mean giving up the routines, choices, and little things that make life your own.

Maybe it's starting the morning with a favourite cup of tea, choosing what's for lunch, spending some time in the garden, going out for a walk, or simply deciding how you'd like to spend your day.

Good care listens to what matters to you and provides the right support while encouraging choice, confidence, and independence.

Because it's your home, your routine, and your life β€” and your choices should always matter.

Peace of Mind for Families

Knowing that someone you love is safe, comfortable, and well supported can make all the difference.

Home care provides more than practical assistance. It offers reassurance that your loved one has someone there to support their daily routine, provide companionship, encourage independence, and help them continue enjoying life in the comfort of their own home.

Every person has different needs, which is why the right support should always be personal, respectful, and centred around what matters most to them.

For families, it's about having confidence that their loved one is receiving compassionate careβ€”even when they can't always be there themselves.

If you'd like to talk about how we can support you or someone you love, our friendly team is here to help.

Staying Safe & Comfortable in Hot Weather

When temperatures rise, a few simple steps can make a big difference to staying safe and wellβ€”especially for older people and those who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

πŸ’§ Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day
🏑 Keep rooms as cool as possible and close curtains where sunlight is strongest
πŸ‘• Wear light, comfortable clothing
🌀️ Avoid spending too much time outdoors during the hottest part of the day
πŸ’™ Check in regularly with family, friends, neighbours, and anyone who may need a little extra support

Looking out for one another is especially important during periods of warmer weather. A friendly check-in, a cool drink, or a helping hand can go a long way towards keeping someone safe and comfortable at home.

🏑 Why Choose Home Care?

Home is more than just a place to liveβ€”it's where people feel most comfortable, secure, and connected to the memories and routines they cherish.

Choosing home care means receiving personalised support while continuing to enjoy the comfort and familiarity of your own surroundings. Whether it's assistance with daily activities, companionship, personal care, or specialist support, the right care can help people maintain their independence and quality of life.

Home care also provides reassurance for families, knowing their loved ones are receiving compassionate, professional support tailored to their individual needs.

Because everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported in the place they call home.
