Our newly elected Reform Councillors were in Rugby Town Hall yesterday for their first Annual Full Council meeting.

Reform UK Rugby proposed an amendment ahead of Full Council to nominate an alternative for the position of Mayor. This amendment was not heard in the chamber, and there was much
scolding and derision from the opposite benches when our Councillors dared to request a named count of the vote.
The position of Mayor had long ago been decided, well ahead of the ceremonials, in a closed door agreement between the established parties,
and prior to there being any Reform members on the council.
During the Borough Election campaign Reform UK Rugby pledged to the electorate that we would bring accountability and transparency to Council. We will not be quiet, or bullied into silence all in the name of maintaining the status quo. Nearly ten and half thousand people in Rugby voted for Reform on May 7th with Reform UK receiving the highest total vote share and we will endeavour to give you all a voice in the coming year.

Cllr Kyle Stewart ( Newbold and Brownsover)
Cllr Jamie Pullin
(Coton and Boughton)
Cllr Andrew Glowacki ( Admirals & Cawston)

Thank you Bilton village for supporting us.

Thank you Bilton village for supporting us.

The results are in and Reform UK Rugby - for the FIRST TIME EVER - now has a foothold on Rugby Borough Council, with 3 new Reform UK Councillors , KYLE STEWART in Newbold & Brownsover, JAMIE PULLIN in Coton & Broughton and Dr ANDREW GLOWAKI at Admirals & Cawston - Andrew claiming the previous Labour leader of Council Michael Moran’s old seat.

REFORM also came a very close second in the Lib Dem. and Conservative stronghold seats of Dunsmore and Revel & Binley woods. Tom Costello only 37 votes off winning in Dunsmore (polling just over 1000 votes )and Pat Ruck only 87 votes off winning Revel & Binley Woods (polling again almost 1,000 votes.).
A three way party battle at Bilton also saw Gareth Keeley & John Partridge only just eased out.
Across the board in Rugby from Benn to Wolston and the Lawfords, Wolvey to New Bilton , Hillmorton to Rokeby , our Reform Candidates made strong inroads even in staunch traditional Labour and Conservative territories.

Our new Councillors are ready to make their presence felt and start to make a difference for their local neighbourhoods and across Rugby Borough .

Finally a massive THANK YOU to all our supporters, volunteers and candidates who have campaigned hard across Rugby Borough the last few weeks , listening to your local views and concerns . The message was clear - our people want positive action and Commonsense politics with local needs and concerns put first.

It’s time now for Action not words. Good Luck this year to our new Councillors and we will be back next year even stronger and more determined to make Rugby Great Again and a place we are all proud to call home.

Election Day Message from REFORM UK RUGBY

AN ELECTION DAY MESSAGE FROM YOUR LOCAL REFORM UK RUGBY CANDIDATES.

Today you have chance to have a say in how Rugby Borough Council is run . How your hard earned Council Tax money is spent. A chance to shape the future direction of Rugby Town, its communities and rural villages.

As candidates we have been listening to the views of residents right across the Borough and the message is clear - it’s time for change, time to put our local people and communities first.

The Labour and Lib. Dem led Council tried to get these elections cancelled - THEY FAILED. The Conservatives had years to improve things- THEY DIDN’T. Whatever your political views at least get out there today and VOTE , because due to Reform UK legally challenging the election cancellation - YOU CAN!!!

It’s your Family, your Community, your town and ultimately your Country’s future at stake. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference and help us get Commonsense back into local politics
Happy Election Day!
