This is a really useful one to know about. If you’re in Warwickshire and have reached State Pension age, you can get a free off-peak bus pass, which makes getting out and about much easier for shopping, appointments, or just meeting friends.

You can apply just before you become eligible, and it can be done online, by post, or at your local library. Worth sharing with parents, grandparents, or neighbours who might not realise it’s there.

Reaching State Pension age can also open the door to other support, such as Attendance Allowance, so it’s a helpful milestone to be aware of.

Are you, or someone you know, of State Pension age and living in Warwickshire? You could be entitled to free off-peak bus travel across England with a concessionary bus pass from Warwickshire County Council!
This pass helps older residents stay independent, connected, and active in their communities , whether it’s for shopping, meeting friends, or getting to appointments.

Attendance Allowance is currently worth up to £5,740 a year, rising to £5,960 from 1 April 2026. It’s tax free and not means tested.

You may be entitled if you’re over 67 and a long-term health condition affects everyday life, even if you manage quite well most of the time. Many people qualify not realising the benefit is available.

State Pension age is also the point at which Attendance Allowance can be claimed, so it’s a useful thing to know if you or a family member need extra support at home.
