Something a little different today... 👌🏻

We spent the day travelling down to Bristol to attend a training workshop focused on modern animal training techniques, learning aids, and behaviour-based approaches through postive reinforcement. 📚

While the course wasn't solely focused on Birds of Prey, there were plenty of valuable takeaways that have given us fresh ideas on how we can continue to get the very best from our feathered family. 🦅🦉🪶

Now comes the exciting part – reviewing everything we've learned and exploring how we can put it into practice to further enhance the welfare, enrichment, and training of our birds.

Why do we invest our time in courses like this?

A lot of traditional falconry and bird training knowledge comes from books written many years ago. Whilst much of that information remains valuable, ongoing research and scientific studies are constantly improving our understanding of animal behaviour and learning.

We strongly believe in embracing new knowledge and staying up to date with the latest developments. If it means providing even better care, enrichment, and opportunities for our birds, then it's something we're always eager to learn more about. 🫡

Today, we want to wish a very Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandads, stepdads, father figures, and the incredible men who guide, support, inspire, and care for those around them.

To all the amazing people we have the pleasure of meeting every day while doing what we love – thank you for being part of our journey.

A very special mention of course goes to the man behind Toras Falconry, Joe. Not only is he an incredible dad to our three amazing sons, but he is also devoted to every member of our feathered family.

For us, this is what it's all about – family, passion, and sharing unforgettable experiences together. Toras Falconry has always been a family adventure, and it's something we never take for granted.

That's a wrap!

A full weekend of shows/ displays now complete, so now us and our feathered family rest 💤💤💤

Today saw us return to Church Farm in Anslow. Where we had yet another brilliant day filled with questions, and some handling along the way 😊🦅🦉

Isla, our baby European Eagle Owls is a sleep already! 😴😅

Anyway, we can't rest for too long as next weekend is another full weekend of displays! Both a little further afield, but we will still be sure to post the details up early this week 👍🏻😉

Well, abit of a special day today. Today we attended our local village fair, and what an amazing day it was.

What makes it more special, is that it was this fair where I watched a local falconer do a display. And it was this fair where I became 'hooked'....At the grande age of 8-10yrs old 🥴

Anyway, another successful day. And we even managed a flying display, where Lenny stepped up to another dimension and absolutely smashed it 🥰👌🏻

Now, we have a few hours rest ready for another display tomorrow at Churchfarm in Anslow 😎

Saturday sees us at a local village fair in Cannock Wood. Followed swiftly by a full day Display at our favourite children's farm in Anslow (Church Farm Tearooms and Children's Farm, Anslow )... the perfect fathers day 😎
