*UPDATE* The number on the temp lights isn’t working, and I’ve been informed because the lights are contracted, council officers can’t touch it.

However I’ve managed to find a number for the company in question, rang around and found the relevant depot. I’ve been told they’re sending the team out to take a look.

As soon as I know more will let people know asap!

Hi everyone,

I’ve just been on the phone with the emergency team as it’s still going on - they’re sending someone out to investigate.

I’ve contacted our highways team again as well to ask for an investigation in how the systems failed, to try to make sure this doesn’t happen ever again during the works.

Please be cautious going that way, as soon as I know more will let people know.

The new playground at Peel Park has been vandalised after being open only a few months. It took a long time to get the funding and replace the park and is devastating to those that use it.

The broken equipment will be fenced off until replacement equipment can be reinstalled.

If you know who did the damage please report it as there isn't an endless pot to keep replacing equipment and we need to keep the park in the best shape possible fot people to enjoy.

Great weather for doorknocking this week! Been great to catch up with everyone about what’s going on in our area.

In case you’ve not seen it, as part of Salford Labour securing a huge £1.4 million extra worth of funding to repair potholes in Salford, each ward will also be getting £20k worth of direct funding that Councillors can use to nominate pothole repairs.

We’ve already reported some we’ve seen this week, but if there’s any in your area, send us a photo so we can add it to the list, or raise it online at the Salford Council website.

This week Tony and Rob had a meeting with Highways England regarding the motorway connections around Worsley. The vast majority of traffic in the area stems connectivity to and from junction 11, 12 and 13. There is a willingness from Highways England to resolve the issues but the technical and engineering challenges provide a challenge to any infrastructure improvements. Notably these are the two listed buildings (the church and worsley Court house) and the engineering and environmental challenges over the moss.

Great night out on the doorstep speaking to residents! Been great to pick up casework, catch up about the area, and talk about the mayoral election tomorrow!

It’s been a brilliant time for GM with Andy Burnham as mayor. Buses in public control, more social housing, more devolution, investment in our young people and police reform.

Bev Craig for Greater Manchester Mayor will continue pushing for more investment in GM, more housing, and better transport, including freezing fares, all day free travel for older people, and extending the free bus passes to 11-18 year olds.

Tommorow, vote for Bev, and let’s keep the momentum going in Greater Manchester.
