Congratulations to Cllr Al Bayliss for his victory in the Milford Unitary election yesterday.

Thank-you to all the people who helped and advised me over my short campaign. I’m sorry I couldn’t deliver the result you wanted and will always be hugely appreciative of the time you gave.

I hope the next 4 years are good to you all.

Best Wishes, Mel

For those of you who have taken time to talk to me, read my leaflets or have engaged online, I pass on my sincere thanks for your time and willingness to share what matters most to you.

Now the time to choose is here, my pitch to you is straightforward. Wiltshire Council has been a shining light for sensible financial management, and delivery across the full spectrum of local government services. Despite what some are claiming, nothing is broken here, far from it. I urge every voter to think hard before voting for change, especially if that ‘change’ is emotionally appealing but vague in detail.

What I offer you is a commitment to continue what Wiltshire has done well, to do better for our transport infrastructure and be a champion for everything that improves your local quality of life.

Before signing off for the evening I’d like to offer praise for your out-going Conservative Councillor, Charles McGrath. He is a remarkable young man, who I believe has done an outstanding job for the residents of Milford and Bishopdown. The fact he delivered in the way he has, while fighting cancer, is all the more remarkable. It shows that despite popular belief, there are some politicians who are genuinely motivated by public service. Whoever follows him has big boots to fill.

Vote Mel Green for Milford & Bishopdown on the 1st of May. 🙏🏻

A clear commitment from the Conservatives not to persecute Farmers, and endanger the nations food security, as is happening under Labour. This is not about wealthy farmers, it’s about fairness, food security and the price we all pay for our food. It impacts us all.

Another reason for a rural county like Wiltshire to Vote Conservative on the 1st of May.

Too important to ignore. Vote for a solid track record and plan for Wiltshire in the years ahead.

I’m sharing this post from Cllr Rich Rogers for Milford Residents. The Southern Area Board does some great work and would be one of my first ports of call for the improvements Milford & Bishopdown need.

Investing in Our Communities

As Chairman of the Southern Area Board, I’ve been proud to champion investment in local community projects that really make a difference for our residents.

Over the last 4 years, the Board has invested over £300,000 directly into community initiatives — but more importantly, we've helped to leverage in the region of £500,000 in additional funding, services, and volunteer support.

This success is a real testament to the strong partnerships we’ve built and the focus we’ve maintained on value for money and real delivery. Thank you to everyone who has worked with us to achieve so much for our communities.

It’s always a great pleasure to listen to people’s ideas and hear how they are making a positive difference. Being able to support their efforts and see those ideas turn into real benefits for our local communities is one of the most rewarding parts of the role.

The end of a long day.

Please get out and vote on Thursday…and persuade others if you can.
