Artist Pete Mckee Art has launched some awesome new donor card designs.

They are in celebration of the British Transplant Games coming to Sheffield this summer.

He is hoping the cards will spark conversations about organ donation. He also wants to encourage more people to register as an organ donor and save lives, just like his.

“That’s why our work here matters. We follow the evidence, and the evidence shows just how harmful gambling is”

Sheffield City Council has joined the Coalition to End Gambling Ads to put a stop to harmful advertising.

The gambling sector spends an estimated £1.5 billion a year in the UK on advertising and marketing.

It increases the chances of people starting to gamble. It pushes children and young people towards seeing it as a normal part of life.

In total, nationally, 45 organisations already campaign against these types of adverts. This includes 14 other councils. They are all reinforcing how advertising gambling is harmful and that it must end.

Those campaigning include the Faculty of Public Health and the Association of Directors of Public Health, as well as Gambling with Lives and the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute. A free soapbox race is coming to Sheffield!

Krazy Races will be raising money for the homeless charity Roundabout, which is one of the Lord Mayor’s chosen causes.

As homemade soapboxes race onto Fargate, there will be a Battle of Britain plane flying overhead.

Don’t miss the food market or fun activities for all ages either.

The race runs through the city centre on Sunday 21 June.

We are delighted at today's decision from the Regulator of Social Housing.

It has removed the notice relating to gas safety issued against our Housing Service back in January 2023.

It has confirmed it is satisfied the issues which led to the notice have now been resolved.

This follows a long period of hard work in which we have closely engaged with and worked alongside the Regulator. We had referred ourselves to them in October 2022.

Feel the roar across South Yorkshire this summer with the Pride of Yorkshire Sculpture Trail.

150 life-sized lions have been hand-painted by artists and placed in locations across the region, including many in Sheffield. You can hunt for the sculptures until 7 September.

It's all to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS and Charity. They're hoping the trail will raise £2.8million.
