Pre-election Rules on Publicity (PERP) are currently in place. These rules stay in place until polls close at the by-election for Walkley on 17 September.
During this time, we must follow the Code of Recommended Practice on Local Authority Publicity (2011).
This helps us keep our social media channels politically neutral. While PERP is in place, we will remove all political comments. This includes comments about political parties, candidates, or political issues.

Have Your Say on the Future of Supported Accommodation for Homeless Young People in Sheffield

Supported accommodation provides more than just a safe place to live. It offers housing-related support to help young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness build independent, stable futures. This can include help with budgeting, accessing healthcare, education, training, and employment.

Sheffield City Council currently funds a range of supported accommodation services for young people aged 16-25. Several of these contracts end in 2027, and we're asking for your views on what support should be available in the future.

Summer Fire Safety: Help Keep Our Homes and Buildings Safe
As we enjoy the warmer weather, please help keep your home, neighbours, and building safe by following a few simple fire safety reminders:

• Do not use BBQs on balconies or near buildings.
• Dispose of ci******es safely and never throw cigarette ends from windows or balconies.
• Avoid overloading electrical sockets with fans, chargers, and other appliances.
• Keep hallways, stairways, and communal areas clear of bikes, prams, rubbish, and other items.
• Report fire safety concerns promptly, including faulty fire doors, broken alarms, emergency lighting issues, or blocked escape routes.

Fire safety is everyone's responsibility. Small actions can make a big difference in protecting our homes and communities.

Who makes decisions about your housing services?

The Housing Policy Committee is responsible for making decisions about housing services in Sheffield. Made up of seven councillors, the Committee helps ensure services are safe, fair and meet the needs of residents.

Its work includes improving council homes, supporting people in supported housing, preventing homelessness, working with landlords and housing providers, and reviewing housing service performance to drive improvements.

Want to get involved?

Housing Policy Committee meetings are open to the public. You can attend in person, watch online, read meeting papers, and submit questions or statements in advance.
