The Coronation Park wildflower garden is beginning to come to life 🌿🌼

At this stage in the natural wildflower garden cycle, you’ll notice the grasses really starting to shine through, and that’s completely intentional. A healthy wildflower meadow is made up of both flowers and grasses working together to create a rich habitat for pollinators, insects, birds, and other local wildlife.

As the season progresses, the flowers will begin to emerge and develop in waves throughout the year, bringing changing colour, texture, and biodiversity over time. Wildflower spaces are designed to evolve naturally through the seasons rather than look the same all year round.

This project has been especially meaningful because of the fantastic local community links involved, including the wonderful children from Oughtibridge Primary School and the Oughtibridge Brownies, who helped inspire and support the creation of this space đź’š

Thank you to everyone who continues to support a more nature-friendly and wildlife-focused Oughtibridge.

Chair of Bradfield Parish Council, Councillor Tom Vickers.

🚌 Weekend Bus Service – Routes 61 & 62 🚌

Bradfield Parish Council is pleased to share that First South Yorkshire has introduced a weekend service on routes 61 and 62.

The service will operate between Hillsborough and Bradfield, providing improved weekend transport links for residents and visitors travelling through the parish.

We encourage everyone visiting our beautiful rural communities to consider using public transport where possible. Increased use of the bus service can help reduce congestion on our narrow rural roads, ease parking pressures, and support a more sustainable way to travel around the parish.

For full timetables and service information, please visit the First South Yorkshire website.

At the Annual Assembly, Bradfield Parish Council was proud to present a Special Recognition Award to the dedicated volunteers behind the Poppies for the Parish initiative.

These volunteers gave their time and effort to create a moving tribute across the parish, placing poppies in remembrance of those who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars. Their hard work has created a respectful and meaningful display for the whole community to reflect upon.

The Parish Council is also honoured to support this project by funding the inclusion of the names of the fallen on the poppies, ensuring that those who made the ultimate sacrifice are remembered not only collectively, but individually.

Special thanks were also given to Councillor Jane Westwood Gray, whose dedication, enthusiasm, and determination have been instrumental in driving this project forward.

On behalf of Bradfield Parish Council, thank you to everyone involved for your continued commitment and for helping make this important tribute possible.
